My name is Katrina and I’m a dietitian/ fit active foodie focused on helping real people, eat real food that makes them feel better than they ever thought possible. My approach to nutrition and life is simple:
• Eat real, wholefoods as often as you can
• Eat less processed and refined foods
• Listen to your body and give it what it is asking for
• Move and eat in ways that that make you feel good!

Who watched The Truth About ... Calories last night?
A few great tips I took away:
1. To minimise calories in food without removing ingredients, add more liquid to soup to fill you up before a main meal
2. Serve yourself up smaller portions in separate bowls or plates
3. Eat your meat of the rarer side so your body has to work harder to break down the protein and absorb slightly less.
4. EAT MORE FIBRE - it will fill you up and carry more food through you without complete absorption.
5. Moderate exercise over a couple of hours (like 3 hours housework) burns more than 45 mins of intense exercise.

Finally you can make SMALL daily changes to tip the balance in your favour (either for weight gain or loss)!

Post Chocolate Depression

Easter technically ended a few days ago but as you would know that doesn’t mean the end of chocolate. My family hasn’t been big on the ‘Easter egg’ thing since my younger sister and I saw the short, grey haired ‘Easter bunny’ in his pajamas and slippers planting eggs in our tree house when we …
