Exploring The Veda is an exposé on the secrets of the universe. We aren’t lying… you’ll gain an understanding of the Laws of Nature that underlie our lives and how to work with them rather than against them.

Our amazing staff and interns surprised Matt at Group Meditation this evening as his half century rotation around the Sun creeps up this Wednesday!

Resistance to doing the work?

I’ve just arrived home, fresh from 23 days of Panchakarma (PK) in India. Panchakarma is an intense ayurvedic cleanse involving daily oil massages (abhyangas), bastis (enemas) a diet of kitcheri (dahl and rice dish), ayurvedic herbs and all sorts of other ayurvedic protocols.

That might all sound wonderful, and there’s no doubt it is a blessing, but on arrival at the Raju Family panchakarma clinic I experienced full resistance as the reality of kitcheri for every meal, and a Groundhog daily routine hit home. I found myself asking ‘why am I checking into a kind of prison when I could be on holiday?!’ I couldn’t imagine ever enjoying the process and was counting down the days to my release.

Then, as often happens on PK, the wave of stress release and resistance subsided and was replaced by a peaceful acceptance. The second half was borderline enjoyable. Still I’d be lying if I said it’s not great to be back and enjoying some home comforts!

I handed the PK baton over to so she’ll be there for the next month and will be back in Bondi all shiny and new in mid Feb. Our Sunday afternoon group meditations will start up again on her return.

I look forward to catching up with you soon, maybe at group med tomorrow evening.

That’s a wrap for 2022, the year of coming back together. We had our biggest group meditations, taught more people to meditate than ever before and celebrated our 10th birthday.

Our big news is that Mairead will be making her long awaited return to BMC very soon. We’ve been hanging out in the snowy UK for the last couple of weeks hatching some exciting plans for 2023.

I’m going offline for a while now as I head to India for Panchakarma (a BIG Ayurvedic cleanse) to reset and recharge for a big ‘23.
