Over the years I have met with many people of different backgrounds, all listening to what I have to share, and all having their own experiences of how challenging it is to live and practice being joyful in the world each day.

The key word here is PRACTICE.

To be free, to have a life of healthy living is only inspired by the desire to ACTIVELY participate in your own life.

Often times I hear that someone is aspiring to become- successful- better- more loved,

The key is to LOVE yourself first.
Be in your OWN BODY and FEEL yourself in the experience of meditating or yoga.
By simply ā€˜doing’ all of these activities we don’t always benefit from it, if we aren’t dropping into ā€˜being’.

Take five minutes…
Look at the ground before you… is it grass? A path?
Then, give yourself permission to switch off your internal voice and look around.
Engage with your 5 senses..
What can you see? Is it rainy? If so, what can you smell? Is the earth rich with aroma or the path a steamy odour?
Okay, you’ve started something…
Now continue :
Have you given yourself a little goal; walk around the block/park/city?
Look at your feet and feel your body, each step a movement - first left then right… notice your brain’s attempt at questioning you… ask it to come along on this little walk.

Then, you BREATHE…..
Maybe you can get a rhythm: 5 breaths in - what can you smell, how does your chest feel, where are you stepping - and 5 counts out.

Notice how you feel at the end of this little experiment- did it challenge your thoughts or feelings about anything?
Do you judge yourself? If so, what are you saying?
šŸ’šāœŒšŸ½šŸ’šāœŒšŸ½šŸ’šāœŒšŸ½šŸ’šāœŒšŸ½šŸ’š Finally, write your own script for reflection. What did you notice, and sit back to ask yourself- what didn’t I want to do/hear/notice about this process?

Just remember, it is a process of becoming aware…
And awareness leads to

Followed by freedom, and ultimately healthy relationships with others and your self.

Take your time.

Walking the talk with my body often means I’m not as frequently active on social media.

These days, saying that we haven’t got ā€˜spare time’ is only paying lip service to what we do not value.

When I have this ā€˜spare time’ during the day/weeks/weekends, I value:
🐾taking walks with my dog.
šŸ™Œsitting with my family and listening to what they say: how’s work? How’s your friends?
šŸƒšŸ¾ā€ā™€ļøwalking outside, soaking up the natural sunlight
And
šŸŒ³šŸ™šŸ»šŸ’šāœ… meditation + yoga in nature

This is so valuable to me - and for me. In fact, it adds to my capacity as a therapist to heal others when I can practice these tools of self care.

It is why I’m so grateful for regular retreats myself. This week I’m able to recharge and reflect on the past few months; to regroup and focus on where life may have challenged me; where I may have become lazy with my diet, how I’ve been drained energetically- and sometimes emotionally (I have a client dying slowly from cancer).

Therefore,
Even with time away from my beautiful 🐶,
I can see more clearly,
Cleanse my mind
Strengthen my heart
and
Remember why I am here.

Post Covid and beyond? What does life look like today?

For many of us, it's been a harrowing journey.
Here's a snapshot of how I've ridden these waves of change:

Based in the Gold Coast since December 2020, having transitioned during a time when many of us may have been challenged, I experienced COVID/ having to vaccinate or not work/having to vacate my rental in Sydney, changing borders, natural disasters, managing my nervous system health, taking care of others, becoming my mother’s carer.

I juggled practicing with continuing core practices on-line, or in-person.

Then it became clear: the world has changed. The way we see our lives and manage our body systems has become more prevalent. More practitioners and many more people have embraced the knowledge I’ve set about sharing for many years. It was time for me to move into my elder years, wisely accepting the invitation from our Divine to evolve yet again.

During 2021/22, I felt - and saw that with all these planetary & energetic changes there’s a a greater need to reach many of those people who cannot source help; many more who struggle with the mental body, trying so hard to utilise digital formats for news, social formats for comfort and often government programs for mental health support when they are at their lowest and unable to live efficiently enough. '

It saddens me to have seen so many people fall below the poverty line; some of whom I work for now, are reliant upon NDIS support after collapsing from the struggle of maintaining their daily lives within a framework of what is known as ā€˜survival mode’.

This is becoming the norm.

In maintaining my personal, long term vision of helping others to move from this ā€˜survival mode’ and into ā€˜thriving mode’, I have yet again understood that I am called to become aware of how uncomfortable life is for many of us today. And it is during this discomfort that I have met with the Divine and asked for guidance. I was working with some incredibly challenged clients; going along with them to their psychology appointments, oncology appointments, holding their hands and taking them through grounding practices.

However, this was not enough anymore.

This year, with awareness and acceptance, I stepped back into study. It was never my intention, however I am always open to learning. Also this is an opportunity for me to offer a branch to those communities who are stuck within governmental programs; many who are now embracing these ā€˜alternative’ breathwork and ta***ic practices within their sessions.

It is my intention that, with a Degree in Psychological Sciences, I will be able to focus on deepening and expanding my research into the fundamental values of human evolution: the definition of existing body+mind variables in the context of eco friendly mental health services, social justice & equality.

With my first year of study coming to an end, I am grateful to be maintaining a nice balance of clients and studies. I am also finding my feet again, in a world that pretty much sent me spiraling; dizzy, tired, disillusioned, and exhausted by all the toxic political agendas getting airtime.

I am always reminded that it is my purpose to feel into, and explore the philosophical aspects of life; to look at the big picture and accept my place in it. Where can I do better? What can I change? What kind of world do I wish to be a part of?

By always seeking guidance, I find meaning in the many positive experiences of working with people - especially those who have indeed continued to shape my perspective and offer support as we remain vigilant and mindful of building a strong community, I thank you for being courageous and look forward to a brighter future for all of us.

Bringing my dog into sessions has greatly expanded the benefits of healing through connection and anxiety management.

As I continue to evolve, I’m undertaking more study to understand the important link between we humans and sentient beings - especially dogs.

Dogs have always been a part of my life, having worked with Guide Dogs & the vision inpaired,
and current therapy clients.

Thankyou to those of you who open up your hearts to our fur friends, because this can often be the first step to opening up in your daily relationships - and maintaining physical wellness also.
