At the end of last year, we announced our two Fire It Up Award Recipients. The Fire It Up Award was created to acknowledge those who go above and beyond in embodying the Coates values. We are thrilled to recognise Sam Dobell for our Crew Award, and Kate Hama for our Leadership Award!
 
Sam earned this recognition for his exceptional impact as an individual contributor, consistently delivering work of outstanding quality and ownership. He takes a holistic, end-to-end approach to product design - carefully considering creative intent, user experience, manufacturing, and commercial viability.
 
Kate has continued to excel beyond the remit of her role, consistently demonstrating strategic maturity, strong ex*****on, and leadership. Kate is a highly respected leader within the Japan market who strengthens internal culture and consistently embodies all six Coates values, making her a deserving recipient of the FIU Award this year.

As we near the end 2025 and reflect on the year, we want to say thank you to our Crew, customers and collaborators for their support, trust and partnership.

In light of the recent tragic events that occurred in Bondi, a beloved neighbourhood in the city of our headquarters, we’re more thankful than ever for our community and the support around us. Our thoughts are with those directly impacted and our Sydney Crew and community.

It’s been a great season with Dunkin’ Joy at the Music City Joy Dinner, Midwest Gala, and Manhattan Gala, all uniting franchisees, partners, and community leaders to support and raise money for children battling illness and hunger. These events brought evenings of connection and compassion. From touching stories of healing to moments of entertainment and generosity, they embodied the spirit of community and care. Coates proudly sponsored the three fundraisers, and our attendance gave us the opportunity to celebrate a night of giving, deepen relationships and make a meaningful difference together with our partners.

Each group dressed up in a different music genre before battling it out in a high energy music game show , followed by lunch, drinks, and plenty of laughs.
