It’s easy to think it should happen faster than this.
To wonder if you’re doing enough… or if it’s working.

But the truth is, the kind of strength that actually lasts isn’t built in a rush.
It’s built in the sessions that feel pretty normal.

The ones where you just show up, do what you can, and leave without much fuss.

Then one day, something shifts.

Your body feels more reliable. You move without thinking about it so much. Things that used to feel hard… don’t.

That’s when you realise — this was never about quick results.

It was about building something you get to keep.

You walk in and the session’s already planned.

A coach takes you through what you’re doing.
They show you how it works and then get you started.

From there, you move through it at your own pace.

Some people lift a bit heavier. Some people take it steady.

The coach checks in when needed.
They adjust things if something doesn’t feel right.

You’re not left guessing… but you’re not hovered over either.

You finish and have a quick chat, and then head off.

It is simple, structured, and a lot easier to stick to.

And after a while, it just becomes part of your week and starts to feel familiar!

Not every strength exercise needs to be complicated.

The bear squat is a simple way to build full body strength while staying supported and in control - plus it has a nice stretch built in.

This squat gives you a bit more support,
so you can slow things down, feel more stable,
and actually trust the movement again.

Because when something finally feels right…
you stop second guessing
and start moving with confidence.

Try it and see how your body responds.

So much of life is spent looking after other people.
Such as work, family and other responsibilities.

Training is one of the rare moments where the focus turns back to you.

Not for appearance and not for comparison.
But to stay well, capable and strong.

From a Woman’s Perspective: Stories of Strength That Refused to Stay Silent is a deeply heartfelt collection of stories centred around healing, resilience, life experiences, emotional growth, and the strength women carry through even the most difficult moments.

Many of our members know Betty for her passion, support, and dedication within the Fitness Local community, and we’re incredibly proud to see her share such a personal and meaningful project with the world.

For many people, walking into a gym already feels like a challenge.

It’s loud and it’s busy.

It can feel like everyone else knows what they’re doing… and you don’t.

That feeling stops a lot of people before they even begin.

So we’ve created something different.

A space where you’re guided and encouraged.
And never made to feel like you have to prove anything.

Because you don’t.
You just need to keep showing up.

Strong hips don’t just happen from lifting.

They come from moving them properly first.

This sequence targets:
• Activation (banded abduction)
• Strength (hip flexor raises)
• Control (90/90 + openers)
• Mobility (hip flexor stretch)

Because tight, weak hips can affect everything — from how you squat and hinge… to how your lower back feels day to day.

When your hips move well, everything else starts to feel better too.

They become stronger, more stable and controlled.

You don’t need to rush it, just move with intention.

Try adding this in before your next session.
