πŸ‘• JERSEY DAY AT HORNSBY HOSPITAL πŸ‘•

Staff at Hornsby Hospital proudly wore their favourite sporting jerseys today to mark Jersey Day.

Jersey Day was inspired by 13-year-old Nathan Gremmo, who gave the gift of life to six people through organ donation. His story reminds us of the incredible impact one decision can have.

The day is all about starting conversations with family, friends and colleagues about organ and tissue donation.

Thank you to everyone at Hornsby Hospital for getting involved and raising awareness in such a meaningful way. Registering to be an organ donor is easyβ€”visit www.donatelife.gov.au

Life is full of major milestones – relationships, growing families and new beginnings. Your Will should reflect that too.

You can create or update your Will FOR FREE (normally $160) thanks to a special offer from Safewill, made possible through our charity partner, the NORTH Foundation – but only from 1-14 September, so start planning.

It’s simple, secure and only takes 20 minutes online.

It’s also a chance to leave a legacy. By including a gift in your Will to the NORTH Foundation, you will be supporting innovative healthcare and medical research, creating a healthier future for generations to come.

A recent bequest enabled Royal North Shore Hospital to acquire a state-of-the-art surgical robot. This extraordinary gift is already helping patients receive minimally invasive procedures that reduce pain, shorten hospital stays and improve recovery times.

Take advantage of the free offer and start your Will today πŸ‘‰ bit.ly/NSLHDStartYourWill.

🌟 NEW CLINIC OFFERS PROTECTION AGAINST TUBERCULOSIS 🌟

A nurse-led tuberculosis (TB) vaccination clinic has opened at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital to support families in Northern Sydney. The clinic provides the Bacille Calmette-Guerin (BCG) vaccine, giving children under five vital protection when travelling to countries where TB is common.

TB remains one of the world’s deadliest infectious diseases, causing 1.3 million deaths globally each year. While curable, prevention and early detection are key to stopping its spread.

The Hornsby clinic will run every two months and joins established TB services at Royal North Shore and Mona Vale hospitals. Families can request the vaccine via the NSW Health portal or by contacting NSLHD-TBServicesBCG@health.nsw.gov.au

β€œVaccination for children travelling overseas for more than four weeks is a key preventative health action,” says NSLHD TB Services Acting Nurse Manager Tanya Silva.
