🌋 The Feelings Volcano 🌋

At The Inclusion Centre, we love exploring big emotions in fun, visual, and hands-on ways!

Our Feelings Volcano helps children understand what happens inside our bodies when we start to feel angry or frustrated.

Just like a real volcano, our emotions build up, we might feel our heart race, our muscles tighten, or our breathing get faster… until we reach the peak of the eruption!🌋

Through this visual experiment, we show how our “lava” (anger) can overflow when we don’t have ways to calm down. Then, just like the volcano cools, we explore strategies to help our bodies settle; deep breathing, sensory breaks, asking for help, or taking time in a calm space💜

Understanding our emotions is the first step to managing them, and this activity makes learning about feelings exciting, safe, and empowering💜

Celebrating the completion of the Westmead Feelings Program!🎉

The children received their well-deserved certificates and crafted their very own ‘Happy Bags’ as part of their emotional toolkit🙌🏽

These bags will help them manage overwhelming feelings and bring a sense of calm when they need it most.

We are so proud of their progress and the steps they’ve taken towards emotional well-being!💜
