Self Advocacy Sydney is a place for people with Intellectual Disability to learn new skills and meet new people.

- Give training support and information to all members / consumers to develop their skills as self advocates.
- Provide information and education to the community about self advocacy and the rights of the people who have Intellectual Disability.
- Develop strong links with other advocacy and community groups.

Today we remember Arthur Bozikas OAM. Arthur passed away one year ago today.

Arthur led Self Advocacy Sydney (SAS) for almost 30 years.

Arthur worked hard to make sure people with intellectual disability were heard and their rights respected.

SAS has named an award after Arthur to honour him.

The award is called the “Arthur Bozikas, OAM Staff Excellence Award”.

This award is given to a staff member who supports the rights of people with intellectual disability in their work.

We are thankful for everything Arthur gave to SAS and the community.

His life and work will continue to inspire SAS every day.

Arthur is deeply missed by his family, colleagues, the people he supported, and the wider community.

We had a great time celebrating with our clients!

We got feedback about this past year at SAS and heard ideas for programs and activities in 2026!
