It’s not everyday you get to meet one of your nutrition hero’s!

It was such a joy to chat to Dr Joanna McMillan, to explore how nutrition can fuel our bodies to optimise focus and energy.

With so much confusing nutrition advice, it can be hard to seperate the facts from fads and TikTok trends (hello lettuce water!) from trusted advice.

I’ve followed Jo since my days studying clinical nutrition and love her no guilt, no extremes approach to nutrition.

Some core concepts that really stood out:

🥑 Aim to become more plant-based by adding up to 30 different plant foods per week.

🤩 Make friends with a diverse range of fibre to support gut, heart, brain, metabolic and immune health.

🩵 Prioritise the foundations of sleep, regular movement and strength training.

☕ And for coffee lovers, it can support energy and focus (with a few caveats!)

And always serve meals with a side of joy. ❤️

Such great reminders that small daily shifts can make a big difference to how we feel in the future.

Mini food prep inspo for when you want to high-five yourself for being so organised 🙌

Such a simple, basic prep idea… but honestly, it’s been a huge time saver. Having fruit and veg chopped and ready to go has made school lunches, WFH lunches and dinners so much quicker and easier.

Add in staples like cooked rice, pasta or quinoa and you’ve got an easy base for meals sorted.

Future me is very happy about this 😘

Fell in love with Thailand’s beaches all over again. They were a lot busier than my last visit 15 years ago, but just as magical.

There’s something about being by the ocean that slows time and somehow makes almost everything better. Take me back to swim, snorkel, kayak, repeat. 🌊 💙

Old Town Phuket had all the vibes. Endless markets selling almost everything, pops of colour, thousands of people and incredible street market food.

Ate, cooked, explored, and then ate some more through Thailand. 🩷😍🍍🍽️👨🏼‍🍳

Such a sensory and immersive experience to shop at the local markets, cook at a local cooking class and create our very own Thai dishes.

I think I may have also set a world record for eating mango sticky rice 🥭😍

Lights. Camera. NIDA!

I just spent two days at a TV presenting course at NIDA facing ALL the fears and stepping WAY outside my comfort zone.

😉 I was worried I’d be the oldest.

🤭 I was worried I’d be the only one without a TikTok account.😂🤣

🫣 I was worried I’d be the least experienced.

But instead I met the most wonderful group of people from professional rugby players, psychics, psychiatrists, web designers to travel writers in the course.

We all had the same fears, and insecurities but also just enough courage and craziness to put ourselves out there for two days.

While I won’t be taking over from Sandra Sully on the news anytime soon, it was such a great learning experience.

Who knows I might even start that TikTok account!

Who knew chatting about finances could be so much fun!!

Effie Zahos, was an absolute joy to learn from and is quite literally a wealth of financial wisdom.

In the era of Cozzie Livs we need all the financial hacks we can get!

Effie shared the difference between EFT’s, gold, property, crypto and taught us how to mix and match our financial portfolio.

The biggest takeaway- it’s never too late to start, and to take action by doing something today for your financial future tomorrow.
