We have a vacancy in a friendly shared home for a man in his late 40s–early 50s. This home is all about comfort, connection and everyday enjoyment — from afternoon tea and board games to picnics in the park and backyard basketball.

The single-storey home offers plenty of space, with two living areas and outdoor areas to relax or enjoy activities together. It’s also close to shops, cafés, beaches, public transport and local amenities.

The home can support a range of needs, from higher levels of daily support to more independent living with occasional check-ins.

With temperatures soaring, it’s important to check in on family, loved ones, and those with complex care needs. Extreme heat can quickly lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion, or heatstroke.

Watch for signs of heat-related illness:

- Confusion, dizziness, or fatigue
- Rapid heartbeat or breathing
- Nausea or vomiting
- Hot, flushed, or dry skin

Steps to keep people safe:

- Stay cool indoors: close windows, blinds or curtains, and use fans or air conditioning
- Encourage regular hydration
- Check in frequently, especially with those living alone
- Avoid strenuous activity during peak heat
- If outdoors, follow Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek and Slide sun safety advice

At Maxlife Care, we encourage everyone to prioritise safety and wellbeing during extreme weather. A quick check-in could make all the difference.
