In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the gallbladder is more than a digestive organ. It is the seat of courage, judgment, and decision-making. The gallbladder meridian runs from the fourth toe to the shoulder, influencing both physical and psychological health. When gallbladder qi is balanced, we feel decisive and confident. Imbalance can lead to timidity, hesitation, indecisiveness and even insomnia—especially between 11 PM and 1 AM, the gallbladder’s peak time. Based on my best estimation, we have been gallbladder purification since the beginning of June. This will complete early to mid-September.
Depending on your constitutional make up, this can also affect other energy systems but predominantly affecting the following, see visual representations of these channels above:
• Liver the partner organ system belonging to the same element
• Extraordinary Vessel Dai Mai (Girdling)
• Extraordinary Vessel Yang Wei Mai (Yang Linking)
On the physical level, the tissues associated with the gallbladder and the partner organ Liver are ligaments and tendons. You may experience more discomforts in your joints. Due to the close relationship with the liver organ, you may also experience sluggishness in the body’s ability to detox, it can also impact the pancreas causing disturbances in blood sugar regulation. Another common symptom is tightness and tension on or on either side of the sacrum, the sacrum area itself, tensions in the jaws, muscular tension along the trajectory of the gallbladder meridian and the two related extraordinary vessels mentioned above. Tension or pain in the hips, tension headaches and migraines.
Mentally and emotionally, we are clearing distorted belief systems, people places and situations may trigger you to explore beliefs around certain themes:
• My best is never good enough leading to frustration
• Reframing the concept of personal responsibility and choice. Is it true free will if my choices are always motivated from protecting self from fear or to stay in my known paradigms of belief?
• Avoidant patterns leading to procrastination and indecisiveness
• Outsourcing decision making to a third party, feeding frustration again especially if it results in an undesired outcome
• Blaming external circumstances by not owning one’s ability to create consciously.
• Live and act out of integrity rather than surrendering to your soul’s destined spirit path.
• Conditional acceptance of self because we set distorted arbitrary standards for ourselves.
• Neglecting and denying our physical vehicle as the necessary portal for ascension and evolution because the body is less superior to the spirit.
The broader theme of all these distortions relates to anchoring yourself to your true essence. Standing firm and following your own unique path.
