Please join us in congratulating Dr Susannah Hallal, who has been awarded the Cure Brain Cancer Foundationโ€™s 2025 Guardian Trust Early Career Fellowship. This is an outstanding achievement and recognition of Susannahโ€™s commitment to improving outcomes for GBM patients.

This grant, valued at $575,000 across 5 years, will enable Dr Hallal to continue advancing her research which focuses on glioblastoma (GBM) molecular patterns, or โ€˜fingerprintsโ€™ that detect GBM recurrence with near-perfect accuracy. Dr Hallal aims to further increase this accuracy through molecular analyses, with potential outcomes of personalised treatment decisions and improved quality-of-life of GBM patients in Australia.

Massively proud of my friends and colleagues Professor Richard Scolyer and Prof Georgina Long for what they have achieved for patients with advanced melanoma. Congratulations!

Primary brain cancer, Glioblastoma, remains a universally fatal cancer with no advancement in treatment in over 20 years. The brave and risky path taken by Richard Scolyer will bring about much needed change in clinical trials and research for primary brain cancer.

With increased funding and innovative research, we will see results.

Scolyer and Long have saved tens of thousands of lives by revolutionising melanoma treatment. Now theyโ€™re turning their attention to brain cancer as Scolyer stares dow...
