🚨 NAIL SALON SAFETY HACK: STOP THE SPREAD! 🚨

You love a fresh mani-pedi, but unsterilized tools are a major source of fungal infections, warts, and even bacterial issues that land straight on my treatment table. As a Podiatrist, this is the first thing I look for:

✅ The Sterilization Indicator Secret! 🔍

Next time your nail technician opens the sealed pouch of metal tools, look for the

⛿ Sterilization Indicator Strip (sometimes called the "S" indicator) right on the packaging!

⚠️ The Proof is in the Color: These strips are designed to change color (often from pink or blue to dark brown or black) after they've been successfully exposed to the high heat and pressure of an autoclave (the machine that sterilizes tools).

🟠 What to Look For: If the strip is still the original light color (i.e., NO color change), those tools are NOT sterile. Politely ask for a different set that shows the correct color change.

➡️ Why It Matters: This simple check is your #1 defense against nail fungus, Athlete's Foot, and other nasty infections that thrive on shared, contaminated equipment. Protect your feet and nails!

Did you already know about this crucial color code, or is this new info? Tell me in the comments! 👇

✨DO YOU HAVE BUNIONS? DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO HAS BUNIONS? Share this video or tag them! Spread the message! The key is awareness

Halluxabductovalgus (HAV) is inward rotation and "turning inward" of the big toe joint

🔔Bunions are a common foot deformity that can cause pain, discomfort, and even limit your mobility. They occur when the big toe joint (hallux) bends outwards, causing the toe to push against the other toes. This can lead to a bony bump forming at the base of the big toe.

🚨What causes bunions?

➡️ There are several factors that can contribute to the development of bunions, including:

🔹Genetics: If your parents or grandparents had bunions, you're more likely to develop them too. This is due to inherited foot structure and mechanics.

🔹Footwear: Tight, narrow shoes, especially those with high heels, can squeeze your toes together and push your big toe out of alignment. Over time, this can lead to a bunion.

🔹Foot injuries: A previous injury to your foot, such as a sprain or fracture, can weaken the joint and make it more susceptible to developing a bunion.

🔹Inflammatory conditions: Certain conditions like rheumatoid arthritis can cause inflammation in your joints, including your big toe joint. This can lead to pain, swelling, and the formation of a bunion.

🔹Flat feet or low arches: If you have flat feet or low arches, your foot may roll inward when you walk (overpronation). This can put extra stress on your big toe joint and contribute to the development of a bunion.

✅ If you have any concerns about bunions, please see a podiatrist or other healthcare professional.
