Ankle sprains are one of the most common injuries, but many people underestimate how serious they can become. While pain and stiffness may begin to improve within a few days, studies show that 3 out of 4 people continue to experience ongoing symptoms for 1–4 years after the initial injury. These long-term issues can include ankle weakness, repeated rolling of the ankle, instability, tendon pain, and difficulty returning to sport or exercise.
Research has found that people who have sprained their ankle multiple times are more likely to develop chronic ankle instability. Those with 1–4 previous ankle sprains often report ongoing pain, while people with 5 or more sprains commonly experience frequent giving way, poor balance, and constant instability.
Chronic ankle instability can reduce physical activity levels, impact sports performance, and lower overall quality of life. It can also affect the reaction time of the muscles that help protect the ankle, making future sprains more likely. Without proper ankle sprain treatment and rehabilitation, these problems can continue for years.
If you have recently suffered a sprained ankle, rolled your ankle, or still feel weakness and instability from an old ankle injury, physiotherapy can help. Our ankle rehab programs focus on restoring strength, improving balance, reducing pain, and preventing future ankle sprains. Give us a call on 9672 6752 (Kellyville) or 9871 2022 (Carlingford) to book an appointment today.

Pain can be frustrating, especially when it keeps coming back or limits the things you enjoy but there are ways to help this. At our physiotherapy practice, we believe that effective treatment starts with understanding why your pain is happening before we work on rebuilding you back up.

Identifying the Root Cause
Rather than simply treating symptoms, we take the time to assess your movement, strength, lifestyle, and injury history. Whether it’s a gym-related strain, a sports injury, or persistent everyday discomfort, our goal is to find the underlying cause.

Guide you Safely Back to Full Strength
Once we understand the source of your pain, we create a tailored treatment plan designed specifically for you. This may include hands-on therapy, targeted exercises, and movement retraining to reduce pain, restore function, and rebuild confidence in your body.

Preventing Future Injuries
Recovery doesn’t stop when the pain goes away. We place a strong emphasis on prevention, equipping you with the tools and knowledge to avoid future setbacks. This includes strength programs, mobility work, technique correction, and practical advice you can apply in the gym, at work, or in everyday life.
Our goal is simple: help you understand your body, return you to pain-free movement, and keep you there. If you’re ready to move better and stay injury-free, we’re here to help every step of the way.

Most rotator cuff tears do not need surgery!

Studies comparing surgery to structured physiotherapy programs for small-to-medium rotator cuff tears show that they are just as helpful in reducing pain or function for most patients, even up to 10 years later. Most of rotator cuff tears don’t need to undergo any surgical procedure. What they do need is a structured loading program focusing on movement, range, strengthening, and improving tolerance, not cutting the healthy tissue. Pain does not equal pathology that needs to be removed. Imaging does not dictate treatment. Weakness is not a surgical diagnosis.

If you are experiencing shoulder pain, have been diagnosed with shoulder pain, or told you will need surgery from your shoulder, you will benefit from seeing one of our physiotherapists to ensure correct treatment. Please get in touch with us on 9672 6752 (Kellyville) or 9871 2022 (Carlingford) and one of our friendly receptionists will be able to arrange an appointment for you.
