Inspired by the many very active patients we have, I’m increasing my walking this month, by walking 122km to support Orange Sky. A few people I’ve mentione this to have asked about Orange Sky. This organisation provides a mobile laundry and shower service to people living rough and otherwise doing it tough. They recognise a need for the dignity this service affords, and for the chance to have conversations and make connections. Volunteering opportunities are available.

Are you the parent or carer of a child in Year 7 or 8?

Researchers at the Black Dog Institute are working to develop a new lesson that aims to teach Year 7 & 8 students how to establish healthy sleep routines.

We’re looking for Year 7 & 8 students and their parents/carers to participate in one or two focus groups to provide their feedback and advice about the new sleep lesson.

Bowel cancer awareness month - if you are over 50 and have a Bowel Cancer screening kit floating around your house please open it up and do it. This is a fantastic screening program that can save lives.

This study aims to determine whether the Sleep Ninja app is an acceptable and feasible intervention for young people with sleep difficulties.

Cervical screening - since 1 July 2022 the option to provide a self-collected sample for cervical screening has been expanded to everyone eligible for the test. Please discuss with your doctor.

From 1 July 2022, the National Cervical Screening Program will allow all eligible screeners to collect their own Cervical Screening Test sample.
