Under the supervision of our Speech Therapist, Nuhara, she was able to work with some of our ChatAbout families, and completed a Quality Improvement project on the impact of hearing on speech sound development.

Congratulations to Emmi for completing her last paediatric placement, as part of her Masters Degree at the University of Sydney. Emmi completed her placement at our Mount Pritchard clinic! 🥳
During her placement she created a fantastic and educational pamphlet for parents on strategies for shared book reading.
We wish her the best of luck with the rest of her degree, and on her future speech pathology career!

Congratulations to Joyce for completing her 4th year USYD advanced placement at our West Ryde clinic! 🥳
During her time here, she created an awesome educational book all about AAC. Joyce was able to share this with families she had been supporting with Proloquo2go to enhance their understanding of AAC.
We wish her the best of luck with her speech pathology career!

We had so much fun in the school holidays with these group sessions! A range of social skills goals, problem solving, fine motor, executive functioning and communication skills were targeted in our LEGO, Arts & Crafts and Cooking Groups.

REBATES : There are a number of rebates and funding systems available for parents to claim speech pathology services. Parents will need to check with their GP to see what is appropriate for their child. ( The following rebates may apply to families)
Health Funds
Private speech pathology is covered under many health fund plans. It is best to check your specific level of cover.
Medicare
Medicare rebates are available for children with complex and/or ongoing needs. Parents need to check with their GP.
Centerlink
Centrelink can provide an allowance for children with complex and ongoing needs. Parents need to check with their GP.
FaHCSIA/BetterStart
FaHCSIA is for children diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Better Start is for children with specific disabilities. Parents can check the website www.fahcsia.gov.au or talk with their GP for more information.

This workshop is ideal for up-skilling parents in how to stimulate their child’s language development at home.
Social Skills Groups
We run social skills programs for children with high functioning ASD and/or social communication difficulties during school holidays.
Parent Talks
We are available to give a free parent talk about language and school readiness at your child’s pre-school or school.
