Flower Arranging Brings Joy to Our Residents
Many of our residents recently enjoyed a flower arranging activity, and their creativity and care were truly on display. This will now become an optional service offered throughout the year for those who would like to take part.
Please take a moment to admire some of their beautiful creations – now proudly presented on our dining tables for all to enjoy.

Monday at Homewood
Mondays can be tricky, a little bit slow,
After the weekend’s warm, gentle glow.
But here at Homewood, we lift the grey—
With coffee and smiles to start the day.

A concert played and voices soared,
As laughter and music gently poured.
Some took a stroll in the morning sun,
Breathing in joy with every fun run.

The nurses trained, their minds alight,
Sharpening skills to care just right.
And Billy—brush in hand, so neat—
Brought life to walls with every beat.

So while Monday tried to feel a bit blue,
Homewood turned it gold with all we do.
A lovely start, a cheerful blend—
Where care and colour never end.

🎉 Ursula Turns 101 – and Still Glowing! 🎉
No fuss, no drama – just 101 years of grace, good humour, and a positive attitude. According to Ursula, the secret to a long life is “not taking things too seriously and always keeping your chin up!” 💖
In the first photo, she’s pictured with her wonderful nephew Tony, whose weekly visits warm her heart. Tony was once the much-loved bus driver for St George Transport – a fan favourite among our residents, known for his sharp sense of humour and unforgettable outings. 🚌💬
The second photo shows Ursula with our lovely nurse Sabina, who supports both clinical care and activities. Sabina has a huge heart and brings laughter wherever she goes. 💛🩺
And finally, meet Kerry – our fabulous hairdresser (aka Kerryoke). With her beautiful, caring nature, Kerry is always looking for ways to support our residents. Whether she’s giving a fresh cut or singing 80s hits in the salon, she brings joy to everyone she meets. 💇‍♀️🎤✨

This month, we welcome our lovely new resident Shirley, pictured here during a beautiful family visit filled with smiles and love.

A very special mention goes to baby Charlotte, Shirley’s great-granddaughter, who brought extra joy to the day and melted hearts all around Homewood.

Andrew and Mary Pembroke – two of our wonderful owners – have been visiting different areas of the facility as part of Homewood’s ongoing refurbishment works. During their walk-through, they took a moment to acknowledge the incredible work of our nursing team.

A big thank you to the amazing Bruna, our resident yoga queen, who guided everyone through a gentle, fun, and deeply relaxing workout this morning. From mindful breathing to cheeky chair stretches, the room was full of calm energy and big smiles. 🪷💕

🌴✈️ Armchair Travel to Fiji! 🥭🎶

On Thursday, our residents swapped chilly Sydney for tropical Fiji — no passport needed! 🏝️💺✨

They were spoiled with fruity mango daiquiris, delicious island snacks, and a vibrant escape filled with colour, laughter, and sunshine. 🌞🍍🥭

The highlight? The beautiful Anna serenading us with her soothing Fijian songs — the room was swaying right along with the music! 🎤🌺
