Homewood said goodbye today to one of our wonderful nurses, Shifaa.

Shifaa has been with us for five years and has always brought a beautiful smile and a truly caring nature to everything she does. She has supported residents across both the Gardens and Homewood, making a lasting impact on so many.

Her kindness, compassion, and positive energy will be deeply missed by residents, families, and staff alike.

We wish you and your family all the very best, Shifaa — and we hope this isn’t goodbye forever, but simply see you again soon 💛

Tanus’ birthday celebrations, our Easter raffle (with some very lucky winners 🐣), and plenty of smiles all round. We kept active with our exercise classes, turned up the energy with some Bollywood dancing, and even had a spoon race with staff and residents getting involved — a few competitive spirits came out for that one!

We also warmly welcomed our lovely new resident Carol into the Homewood family 🏡

Our BBQ was a hit — maybe too much of a hit… a little smoke, a fire alarm, and suddenly we’ve got a visit from the fire crew 😅

Lucky Bill and Mary stepped in, smoothing things over the only way we know how — with a fresh sausage off the grill 🌭🚒

Great food, full plates, and plenty of laughs all around.

Our exercise sessions are still going strong — good energy, lots of effort, and a few competitive spirits showing up 💪

We also celebrated Joy and Harold’s birthdays 🎉 — beautiful moments, big smiles, and a room full of love.

And to top it off, the Easter Bunny made an appearance 🐰 — stopping for chats, handing out treats, and keeping everyone on their toes.

A little bit of chaos, a lot of heart — just how we like it ❤️

Mondays don’t always get the best reputation… but at Homewood, we know how to turn them around 😊
Today was made extra special with a concert to lift our spirits and a wonderful birthday celebration for Antonio Giacca.

We celebrated Harmony Week with our incredible staff sharing the flavours of their cultures — and what a feast it was! From amazing home-cooked dishes to a beautiful sense of togetherness, it truly reflected what Homewood is all about.

We also enjoyed a special Greek morning tea, along with our usual bus outings and physio exercise classes, keeping everyone active and engaged.

We also held another tasting session as we continue refining a delicious and comforting winter menu — with plenty of great feedback and even better flavours to come.

And of course, we wrapped up the week celebrating our March birthdays

🍀 St Patrick’s Day at Homewood 🍀
A little bit of Irish luck, a lot of smiles, and plenty of green! 💚

Today we celebrated St Patrick’s Day in style—with music, laughter, and great company. From festive outfits to happy faces all around, it was another beautiful day at Homewood.

It was almost scary how well Vickii pulled off the leprechaun look 🍀—we’re still not convinced she’s not the real thing!

And of course, a little whiskey helped put some extra smiles on souls 🥃

Here’s to good times, good health, and a touch of luck for everyone!

We kicked off the weekend celebrating Raif’s birthday, followed by our vibrant Weekend Social Club. From there, the week started strong with art classes, exercise sessions and plenty more to keep everyone active and engaged. With calming yoga led by our wonderful instructor Eleni, our residents continue to feel centred, connected and at their best.

Celebrating birthdays, coffee catch-ups, exercise sessions, dancing, noodle tennis, massages, and arts & crafts…

You’d think this was the monthly activity calendar — but no.

This was just another Thursday at Homewood for me.

Safe to say the residents are having a better social life than I am. 😄💛

A wonderful few days at Homewood with dancing, art classes and birthday celebrations. Milan and Marie stole the show with their dancing. We also welcomed some new performers — got to keep the people happy! We also celebrated Pamela Taylor’s birthday.

A wonderful morning of movement and laughter in The Gardens today! 💪🌿

Our residents enjoyed a fantastic exercise session led by our wonderful physio John, using some of the new equipment downstairs. The team were stretching their arms and muscles with colourful swim noodles, proving that staying active can be both fun and beneficial for the body.

I tried to think of a more appropriate song… but nothing quite beats Olivia Newton-John’s “Let’s Get Physical!” 🎶
