CaPPRe recently launched a shared decision-making program on ChoiceApp for people living with multiple myeloma.

💡 How does it work?

After downloading the App and selecting MMSDM as the ‘codeword’, you have the option of completing short surveys about your treatment preferences and your quality of life.

Once each survey is complete, ChoiceApp will automatically generate a personalised report that summarises your treatment priorities. You can email a printable version of the report to yourself (or anyone you choose) and take it along with you to your next appointment to help guide treatment discussions.

💡 Who is ChoiceApp designed for?

This program was developed in partnership with Myeloma Australia and based on research with haematologists, nurses, patients and carers. Anyone living with multiple myeloma can use ChoiceApp, but it is shown to be most useful for those recently diagnosed or undergoing a change in treatment.

Community and Patient Preference Research (CaPPre) are specialists in conducting research to understand people’s experience of a disease and their preferences when it comes to treatment and care.

Based on a recent myeloma research project, CaPPre have now launched ChoiceApp for myeloma families. ChoiceApp assists people living with myeloma, to better understand their current quality of life, as well as their preferences for myeloma treatments using short and simple surveys. The results of these surveys can then be shared with their treating healthcare team or family members.

ChoiceApp is a free smart device application that can be downloaded onto your smart phone or tablet.

We are seeking the views of people living with a specific cancer.

We are inviting people to participate in research on how they value different treatments for a specific cancer. We are looking for people who have been diagnosed with this condition, who are in a ‘watch and wait’ stage of treatment (i.e. have been diagnosed, however have not received treatment), are on medication now or have taken medication in the past. The results of this research will assist us in understanding what is important to people when choosing between treatments, which could help make superior treatments available in Australia.
