🌿 NAIDOC Week at Leigh Place 🌿

This week, we came together to celebrate NAIDOC Week — a time to honour the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Our residents enjoyed a vibrant array of activities, including:
🎨 Art & Craft – creating beautiful pieces inspired by Indigenous designs and stories
🧠 Word Games – exploring language and learning through fun and interactive games
📖 Storytelling – sharing Dreamtime stories and reflecting on the wisdom they hold
☕ Morning Tea – gathering for delicious treats and heartfelt conversations

It was a week filled with creativity, connection, and cultural appreciation. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this celebration so special.

🌵🎸 Country & Western BBQ at Leigh Place! 🎉🍔

We had a boot-scootin’ good time at our Country & Western themed BBQ this week at Leigh Place Aged Care! Residents and staff came together for a day filled with delicious food, great music, and plenty of cowboy hats and smiles.

From toe-tapping tunes to hearty BBQ fare, the spirit of the Wild West was alive and well. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the sunshine, sharing stories, and celebrating in true country style.

A big thank you to our amazing team for bringing this event to life and to our residents for making it so special. 🤠❤️

🌷 Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Leigh Place 🌷

To mark the occasion, we held a special High Tea on Friday to honour the mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures in our community. It was a lovely morning filled with beautiful food 🍰, warm conversations ☕, and shared memories 💬.

Thank you to the families who joined us, and to our dedicated staff and volunteers who created such a welcoming and elegant celebration 🌼.

Lest We Forget 🌺🇦🇺

Today, on Anzac Day, we honour the bravery, sacrifice, and service of all Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women — past and present.

At Leigh Place Aged Care, we held our commemorative service yesterday on the 24th, bringing together residents, families, and staff for a heartfelt tribute. 🎖️✨

It was especially meaningful to acknowledge and thank some of our very own residents who served — their stories, strength, and spirit continue to inspire us all. 💛

Through music, remembrance, and reflection, we paid our respects to the Anzacs and all who have followed in their footsteps.

May their legacy live on in our hearts and history.

🐣🌸 Happy Easter from Leigh Place! 🌸🐣

This Easter weekend, Leigh Place is filled with smiles, laughter, and the joy of togetherness. From colourful egg hunts to hot cross buns and heartfelt chats over tea, our residents are embracing the spirit of renewal and community.

Easter is a time of hope, new beginnings, and connection — and we’re grateful to share these special moments with our wonderful residents, staff, families, and friends.

🦎🐍 Ssssmiles All Around! 🐍🦎

This week we had a slitheringly good time with John and his scaly crew of reptiles! From bearded dragons to many different snakes, our residents, staff, and even some brave family members faced their fears... and made some unexpected new friends.

We witnessed:
✔️ Residents casually holding snakes like fashion accessories
✔️ Staff trying to act cool while a lizard gave them the side-eye
✔️ One very smug bearded dragon who now thinks he owns the place

John’s reptiles brought laughter, joy, and maybe just a tiny bit of squealing (mostly from the staff 😂).
Thank you, John, for this wild and wonderful visit—who knew cold-blooded creatures could warm so many hearts?
