Forgiving isn’t something you do for someone else. It’s something you do for yourself.

It can be like a dark room where you have closed the windows and curtains. However, outside the sun is shining, and the air is fresh. In order to get that fresh air, you need to get up and open the window and draw the curtains apart.

Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does change the future.

Your trauma is unique to your life, and your grounding methods will be as well. Not every grounding technique is going to work for you, and that is okay.
