Our recent blog post is on a fantastic article by Nancy Pachana, comparing the environment in animal welfare centres to that of aged care. The RSPCA has a framework that we could all learn from https://socialoutcomes.com.au/the-five-freedoms/

Happy Paws Happy Hearts works with people who are severely socially isolated due to disability, mental health issues such as PTSD and long term unemployment. They invite participants to work with animals at the RSPCA who need training and socialisation in order to help them be adopted. This valuable work acts as a gate way to growing confidence, a positive view of the future and the contribution they can make as well as establishing new social networks. This is the gateway to re-engaging with the community, education and work. Our work with the team has been to design and implement a simple but effective impact measurement framework to capture and communicate the social impact they are creating.

Social Outcomes uses a gender lens investing approach to understand the risk and return on any impact investment opportunity we develop. We and our partners are working with the DFAT funded Pacific RISE initiative in Papua New Guinea (PNG) to examine how investment could be used to benefit small sca...

So thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to the dialogue on this year's international women's day . We are encouraging people to think about how the differences between us matter when we are trying to create social change. Assuming that we are the same can undermine our well intended actions.
