A wonderful GP education day!

We covered lots of different topics relevant to the health of women and children. My brain is full of new information and I'm looking forward to implementing it into clinical practice from tomorrow!

A requirement of being a GP is maintaining your knowledge through CPD and this event was a fantastic way to start the ball rolling on my 2026 CPD requirements!

A lovely morning meeting Sharyn from Restore. A wonderful clinic to help support patients post cancer with Lymphoedema, osteoporosis and all the other things cancer (and cancer treatment) do to the body.

It was great to see the holistic care they provide and discuss the impact of life post cancer and the lack of services available. Hopefully, we can work together to improve this.

A wonderful evening covering modern menopause management including the management of GSM symptoms.

Interesting to learn about the different embryological origins of the different parts of female ge***al anatomy explaining why some medications work better than others in this area.

Also a great time to remind all women to familiarise themselves with their anatomy so they can be aware of changes when they occur and know when to seek medical review.

A holiday isn't a holiday without a good book!

Although on this trip, I left the usual fiction at home and instead turned to this book written by Emily Nagowski. After all, I spend a lot of time talking about libido!

Remember ladies, libido is multifactorial but talk to your healthcare professional if it is worrying you.

I was just about coping with the perimenopausal hair loss.....until the head lice struck us down!

Those Nit combs are a brutal daily reminder of the hair loss that is happening.

Beware of the nits in periemnopaise ladies!

A wonderful lunchtime education session with Neos!

We covered all things menopause including the health changes that come with this change in life. We raised awareness that menopause isn't just the move from reproductive to post reproductive life and actually marks a big transition in our mid-life health.

Knowledge is power!

Thanks to life fertility for a wonderful update on fertility issues and how we can initiate investigations for this in both our male and female patients.

It was great to network with like-minded colleagues who also share a passion for women's health!

Such a wonderful evening supporting my local breast cancer supporter group!

We talked all things menopause especially in the breast cancer population, shared some laughs and hopefully all gained some knowledge.

Menopause can be a tough time of life for some but for women navigating breast cancer it can be the gift that keeps on giving 😟 with more severe symptoms and potentially a longer-lasting symptom journey

It was inspiring to hear these women's stories.

A reminder for all of us to check our breasts regularly and access screening when it is due. Remember you can access screening from 40 years of age through your local breast screen service.

March means International Women's Day
But also, for me a busy month running menopause education sessions, starting with an important update for local breast cancer patients in the Sutherland Shire.

Sadly this population does not have all treatment options readily available and with a potential for a worse menopause transition than non-breast cancer patients it is important for these women to be aware of their options.

It is an honour to be invited to join them.
