SWOPmale

SWOPmale This is the page of the Male Project of SWOP NSW. SWOP promotes the health, safety and wellbeing of sex industry workers.

SWOP provides sexual health information and support to people who engage in sex work. We run a variety of health programs and provide outreach to sex industry workplaces. We also work with sex industry owners and operators to encourage the acceptance and maintenance of safe sex practices, and other forms of workplace health and safety. SWOP provides more than just health information. We have a wide-reaching team of specialists and sex industry peers. This includes female, male and transgender outreach workers; a multicultural team supporting sex workers from non-English speaking backgrounds; a counsellor; and an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander outreach worker. All team members outreach to both metro and regional NSW. SWOP works with NSW sex workers, management and their clients. We endeavour to make our programs and services appropriate for sex workers from a diverse range of backgrounds with particular regard to gender, culture, language and age. We also work with other people who participate in sex for favours, cash, drugs, clothing, a place to stay, alcohol or anything else, either often, or on occasion. Some of the people we work with may not identify as being part of the sex industry. DISCLAIMER: Hyperlinks to external websites posted on SWOPmale's page does not constitute endorsement. NSW offender sentenced to 6 years' jail.
The sentence reflects multiple offences committed against eight SWers, and signals how seriously courts are treating non-payment and fraudulent inducement offences.

If you feel like this has happened to you, SWOP NSW can provide support and a referral to ICLC, contact us on SWOPConnect: (02) 9184 9466 or swopconnect@swop.org.au

The Professional is back!
Our historical tradition of SWOP NSW zines written, edited, designed, and created by swers for swers has returned, and we’re so excited to share it with you!

We’re proud to launch the September 2025 issue of The Professional: INDIE EDITION.
Drop into the SWOP NSW office to pick up your own copy, or email resources@swop.org.au and we’ll send you a digital version.

Submissions are also open for our next edition!
We’re preparing a very special issue marking 30 Years of Partial Decriminalisation in NSW, and we’re calling on SWers to tell their stories from this pivotal moment in our history, so we can honour them and keep them alive.

We’re looking for:

☂️ Personal experiences from those who were working during the turn of legislation in 1995
☂️ Reflections on what that era meant for you and your work
☂️ Any memorabilia, photos, art, poems, or other materials you’d like to share
☂️ Stories and moments that capture the working landscape at the time, wins, loses, big or small
☂️ We're also accepting reflections if you weren't around at the turn of legislation in 1995 and you have an experience SWorking in both a criminalised and decriminalised state

If you have something you'd like to contribute, we’d love to hear from you!
Please email your submissions to theprofessional@swop.org.au ❤️
