Neuroverse Assessments

Neuroverse Assessments A new psychology assessment service that celebrates diversity in children, adolescents and adults.

Neuroverse Assessments exists to support families and individuals to identify learning and developmental strengths and challenges. Located in the lower Blue Mountains within the Gabrielle Centre for Children, Neuroverse Assessments is staffed by Rosemary Andison and Lynley Yeo, who have both completed Masters in Educational and Developmental Psychology. Together, Rosemary and Lynley have over 30 years combined experience in the assessment of intelligence, learning, attention, and development. We provide psychological assessments for children, teens and adults to help them understand their unique neurostyle and what best helps them to thrive. We can assist with:

Determining individual patterns of intellectual strength and weakness
Identifying learning disabilities such as reading disorders and mathematical disorders
Identifying gifted and talented children
Identifying intellectual disabilities and developmental delay
Identifying the influence of the individual’s social and emotional functioning on broader functioning
Providing recommendations to optimise effective learning and development
Identifying the need for any further testing for specific conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorders
Identifying the cause of attention difficulties including AD/HD
Guiding appropriate school-placement

PDA is gaining increasing interest and recognition as a subtype of Autism. Australia’s first ever PDA conference will be held later this year in Perth. More details here ⬇️

A surge of professional and personal interest in Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), an autism subtype — which in children can affect everything from cleaning teeth to attending school — has led to Australia's first-ever PDA conference, to be held in Perth in November.

NAPLAN results are out! If your child's literacy or numeracy results are in the lower two bands ("developing" or "needs additional support") it's a good idea to have a chat with their teacher to talk through what is happening and discuss how you can support them to strengthen these skills.

For some children, difficulty acquiring skills in Mathematics, Reading or Writing is due to a neurodevelopmental disorder called a Specific Learning Disorder (also known as dyslexia, dysgraphia or dyscalculia).

If you are concerned about your child's educational development give us a call on 02 4739 2352 to book an appointment. 📞

We would love to assist you to gain clarity about your child's learning and recommendations for how best to support them.

The annual test of literacy and numeracy for students in years 3, 5, 7 and 9 shows some isolated improvements but largely stable results.
