Amber is studying a Bachelor of Psychology at the Australian College of Applied Professions. Prior to pursuing psychology, Amber completed her Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and became very passionate about offering supportive services and evidence informed care to children with additional needs.
Amber is dedicated to providing an enthusiastic and playful learning environment to assist with engagement and ensuring a fun learning experience.
Amber intends to further her studies in Child Psychology and Applied Behaviour Analysis.

At 37°C 🌞 it was an ice play ❄️ day yesterday!

Check out this cool ice play sensory bin Zoe made to promote dumping items from smaller containers into bigger containers as an alternative to throwing, dropping and swiping toys off surfaces!

Throwing, dropping and swiping toys is a developmental stage all toddlers go through as they discover cause and effect! Kids with Autism may continue these actions as they may enjoy the sensory aspect of it! Sometimes this play action can be dangerous or destructive. In these instances we can show kids how to achieve the same outcome in a safer manner. Enter dumping containers and sensory bins!

Zoe made the ice cubes in different shapes and sizes to promote language stimulation.

Variation: You can also use food dye to make different coloured ice cubes ❤️🩷🧡💛💚💙🩵💜🤎🌈

🗣️Meet the Learning Ready team: Miriam; Behaviour Therapist ◽️✨Miriam (Mim) is completing her final year in a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) and Arts (Linguistics), with a particular interest in emotional development and speech acquisition. She intends to continue her studies with a Masters in Speech Pathology.

Mim has worked in home-based childcare for over two years, collaborating with families to provide informed and compassionate care according to young children’s unique needs. She is a strong advocate for the power of creative, connection-based play.

Mim is passionate about early intervention and empathetic, evidence-based care. She is committed to maintaining a consistent, measured and attentive therapy space, and encouraging confidence and agency so that children are best-placed to gain progress. ◽️✨
