✨📣Welcoming to the team Freya & Laura; Behaviour Therapists📣✨

🗣️Freya joined the Learning Ready Behaviour Services team after completing a Bachelor in Psychology and a Master of Science in Health Psychology. Freya has worked with children and young people across education, residential care, disability, and community settings, supporting those with autism and other developmental differences. These experiences have strengthened her focus on early support and the positive impact of consistent, strengths-based guidance on a child’s wellbeing and independence.

Freya values building trusting relationships with children and their families and believes meaningful learning happens through connection, play, and understanding each child’s unique strengths and interests. She enjoys collaborating with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based, individualised support, ensuring children feel safe, respected, and supported. ✨

🗣️Laura has completed a Bachelor of Advanced Science (Psychology Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts at the University of New South Wales.
Laura’s previous work experience has solidified her passion for helping young people and families. She has spent more than five years tutoring and mentoring primary and secondary school students aged 12-18 in a variety of subjects, and has experience supporting neurodiverse young people. Laura finds great fulfilment in assisting young people by tailoring her support to their individual needs, and believes that a nurturing environment involves compassion, patience and fun! She values working closely with the families of each child to ensure support that is warm, communal and inclusive.
Laura believes that evidence-based therapy provides comfort and confidence to children and their families. She currently has the long-term goal of completing a Master of Clinical Psychology, with a keen interest in pursuing a career in child and adolescent psychology.✨ innerwestsydney learningreadybehaviourservices

✨ Bit of a yarn, this one ✨ I (Tash) have been sitting on how to wrap up the year that has been, in light of our Bondi community experiencing a history-making unbelievable atrocity, that has forever changed many peoples lives. How we can head in to a season so filled with festivities, cheer, and exuberance, in this context. We also know that for many of our neurodiverse community, holiday gatherings can be particularly stressful, and at times very isolating events.

An important concept that I have learned from our practice is that more than one thing can be true. More than one, somewhat opposing emotion, belief, or experience, can remain true, and be important. ♥️

Yesterday our Learning Ready team (minus one VIP) came together to reflect on our year, and to celebrate what has been achieved. Our team gives so much, every day; dedicated to our science and to applying it in the most compassionate way. For me, pausing to reflect on how children’s lives have been meaningfully supported gives me a very real sense of pride. When a child recently learned to turn their clothing right-side-out, after so much practice of this challenging task. When a child recently learned to feel comfortable and safe sleeping in their own bed. When another confidently wears their communication device through the community to ensure they can always express themselves to their carer. When another learns that their sibling is autistic, and the understanding of who they are instantly makes the most sense. When we as an organization embarked on the NDIS registration process. When we established new relationships with other providers, organizations, and charities; to explore more meaningful work together. These are the things we celebrate. 🙌

I hope you as our community are being very kind to yourselves, and that these next few weeks will bring you exactly what you need. And to the people who do not close or “shut down” over this period; we thank you, and send you the same hopes for rest and strength.

✨What a privilege it was to attend very first Profound Autism Symposium❣️These two days were all about supporting, learning from, and advocating for the individuals and families in our autism community who are profoundly impacted and live with complex needs, every day. Listening to those who know them best, and deep diving into our services and systems to highlight the changes that must be made. Feeling even more inspired to do our work in the best possible way, to continue to support these individuals and their families 💪 Thank you for the opportunity to do so✨

✨We recently had the privilege of Dr Megan DeLeon bringing her Do Better Fieldguide Workshop to Australia, hosted by ❣️What a fantastic two days together with like minded clinicians, learning from the best in continuing to evolve and better our services. We learnt about the importance of connected relationships, 🤝prioritizing emotional regulation, 💞 creating supportive environments, 👥 and many other aspects of increasing effectiveness for our participants 💪 We returned to Learning Ready with renewed passion, ideas, and connections. What a way to head towards our holiday break, and a fresh year doing what we love. Thank you! ✨

✨Recently, Tash was asked to speak at the Future is Female sprint workshop for aspiring female entrepreneurs. It was an excellent discussion filled with curiosity, reflection, connection, and learning. A value of ours at Learning Ready is building community, and this takes many forms. Amber is studying a Bachelor of Psychology at the Australian College of Applied Professions. Prior to pursuing psychology, Amber completed her Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and became very passionate about offering supportive services and evidence informed care to children with additional needs.
Amber is dedicated to providing an enthusiastic and playful learning environment to assist with engagement and ensuring a fun learning experience.
Amber intends to further her studies in Child Psychology and Applied Behaviour Analysis.
