A Place to Belong: Asian Social Club @ Clover Lea

With more Chinese residents joining our home, we have started an Asian Social Club. The club is a space to sit together, have a chat, listen to familiar songs, and enjoy some tea and traditional snacks.

Our group brings together people from different backgrounds. With Chinese communities from Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan, and across different regions of China we enjoy their different stories which are always intertwined with familiar connections. When everyone sits together and sings songs by Teresa Teng, it feels like a small, special moment one that gently brings people closer.

Fairfield Celebrate Greece! 🇬🇷
Greek Independence Day is celebrated on March 25th to mark the start of the Greek War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire in 1821.
Our residents enjoyed a Greek themed event where we shared the customs and traditions of Greece while learning about the importance of this day. Our very special lunch offered all the tastes of this amazing country!

Everybody needs good neighbours! 🌟

Sometimes life throws everything at you at once, such as broken toilets, soggy carpets and bins you forgot to put out. 😅 But on those chaotic days, it’s the kindness of neighbours that reminds us how much good there still is in the world.

When Sandra Harris Ramini faced a weekend disaster at home, it was her neighbours who stepped in: hauling bins, lending tools and even fixing the plumbing.

A Giant Fairfield Easter Bunny Parade! 🐰🎉

Fairfield residents were treated to a supersized surprise as a giant Easter Bunny hopped in to spread joy and deliver delicious treats.

There were prizes-a-plenty as the residents modelled their special Easter Hats in the Easter Parade. The winners won big with plenty of chocolates given to the ‘best crafty Easter hats’!

Joyful Easter Sunday Celebration at Clover Lea! 🐣💛

Staff started the morning by warmly greeting residents with smiles and Easter wishes, making everyone feel welcomed and uplifted from the beginning of the day. Our staff supported residents’ spiritual and emotional wellbeing by broadcasting the live Easter Sunday Church Mass service from Channel ABC on the television.

With the assistance of our beloved resident, Mr. Ward, Easter chocolates were distributed to all residents. This thoughtful gesture was well received as everyone enjoyed receiving their Easter treats!

Many residents also enjoyed warm visits from their families and loved ones, bringing additional happiness and comfort.

Sukhi, a Personal Care Worker at Grafton Aged Care Home, has brought warmth, kindness and dedication to every resident she meets. After working in hospitals and operating theatres in Punjab, India, she followed her passion for caring for the elderly when she arrived in Australia in May 2024.

Every morning, Sukhi starts her day with a smile and a morning cuddle, checking in on residents and making sure they feel seen, heard and loved. She goes above and beyond to create joy in the little things, like surprising a resident with their favourite popcorn!🍿

Meet Hana Grant, Hall & Prior’s WHS/Injury Manager Partner (NSW) who is a proud Māori, devoted “Meema” and someone who finds joy both in her work and out on the open road.

Hana is passionate about creating safe workplaces where everyone feels supported and protected. Her love for community was shaped by being raised by her grandparents, and today that same spirit carries through her work and family life.

When she’s not championing workplace safety, Hana’s favourite things include spending time with her four grandchildren, riding her 1800cc Harley along country roads with her partner Peter and relaxing at home with her loyal Maine C**n cat, Amol!
