Matterson Hall the perfect venue for Robyn's big day 🥳

Well-known Blue Haven Bonaira Village resident Robyn Anger recently celebrated her 80th birthday in style in Matterson Hall in Kiama.

Family travelled from as far as the UK to join in the celebrations, gathering around a magnificent high tea prepared in the adjacent kitchen by her nearest and dearest.

The hall was beautifully decorated for the occasion, with Robyn’s favourite hydrangeas, a gorgeous theme for the day - showcasing what a versatile space it can be.

Matterson Hall is available for residents to book for their special occasions – milestone birthdays, anniversaries, or family gatherings. Please contact Kylie in the RV office or on 0475 231 940 for direction on booking.

101 Years Young: Celebrating Elsie’s Century of Love 🎉

Elsie celebrated her 101st birthday in true Clover Lea style yesterday.

The lounge was beautifully decorated, a special birthday cake ready, and to make the day even more memorable, a staff member’s one-year-old baby joined the celebration. A century apart, yet together they created a moment full of warmth and joy.

We shared in Elsie’s wisdom, her stories, and the blessings of her long life - reminders of the beauty found in both age and youth.

Surrounded by love, laughter, and the spark of generations, it was a joyful celebration of a life well-lived and the precious moments that make it extraordinary.

Glenwood in all their colourful Teej glory 🩷💛💜

Some of our staff at Glenwood Aged Care Home celebrated the Hindu celebration of Teej together in their vibrant saris.

Occurring around the month of August, Teej is a festival celebrated by Hindu women over three days. Decked out in red/colourful saris, red tika (symbolizing love, power, and purity) and gold bangles, women sing and dance to traditional folk songs for days.

Our gorgeous women stunned our residents and brought the wonder of this important celebration to the halls of Glenwood!

Celebrating Teej @ Blue Haven 🤩

We celebrated Teej Festival with a lovely afternoon filled with dance, food, music and laughter.

Teej is a Hindu festival celebrated by women to honourr the goddess Parvati's union with Lord Shiva. Women traditionally fast, pray for marital bliss, and celebrate with singing and dancing.

The Lifestyle Team have been practicing for Teej behind the scenes led by staff member Sandhya. We were taught traditional dances that we then performed on the day.

It was great to so many staff dancing and joining in wearing traditional dress. The residents then enjoyed warm rice pudding along with the festivities.

The team also reflected on what makes Clover Lea so special — friendships that feel like family, moments of joy that brighten the day and the comfort of knowing this is more than just a workplace.

Over a shared lunch, staff and residents didn’t just enjoy good food — they celebrated the bonds that make this home truly special. 💖
