Our Whiddon Easton Park - Sir David Martin Cooking Club rolled up their sleeves for a special request...pretzels! 🥨Residents asked to try their hand at this iconic German snack, and it was such a hit.

Together, the team along with the residents shaped and baked both sweet and salty varieties, filling the room with delicious aromas. There were plenty of smiles (and second helpings!) as everyone enjoyed the finished results.

Cooking Club is always a wonderful way to share traditions, explore new flavours and, of course, enjoy a tasty treat together. 💛

Music, creativity, and community spirit at Whiddon Easton Park - Arthur Webb Court🎶🧶

During one of our much loved intergenerational school visits, one of the school children from Glenfield Park brought along his didgeridoo and gave our residents a special performance. They loved hearing the sounds, asking him questions, and even having the chance to hold the instrument – such a wonderful cultural experience!

The residents also had another visit from the Ingleburn Knitting Group, who brought along their handmade creations to share. There was plenty of fun, laughter, and chatter over afternoon tea, and every resident received a pair of beautifully crocheted Christmas stockings as a thoughtful gift. 🎄

🌸 What a beautiful spring day out! Recently, Whiddon Easton Park EPU residents enjoyed an all-day bus trip to Bowral for the Tulip Festival.

The gardens were stunning, and there was plenty of time for a little shopping, where jars of honey and handmade soaps were among the favourite finds. More than anything, everyone enjoyed the chance to get out and about together and soak up the sunshine.

A big thank you to our wonderful bus team, Margaret and William, for keeping everyone safe and making the journey such a smooth one. 🚌

An incredible Happy 112th (not a typo!) Birthday to our Whiddon Grafton resident, Ken🎂

At 112, Kenneth (Ken) Weeks is not only Australia’s oldest living person but also the oldest man ever recorded in our nation’s history!

Born in Grafton in 1913, Ken has spent almost his entire life in the Clarence Valley. The eldest of five children, he grew up on a riverside farm in Swan Creek before raising his own family with his late wife and their two sons. Over the years, Ken worked in many roles – from road construction and truck driving to running local businesses.

Throughout his life, Ken has witnessed incredible historical change, from two World Wars and the Great Depression to the arrival of television and the internet. Ken has seen pandemics, technological revolutions, and immense social and cultural shifts, all while remaining rooted in his community.

Ken moved into Whiddon Grafton shortly before his 105th birthday and quickly became a much-loved part of our community. Known for his independence, humour, and friendly nature, he continues to inspire those around him every day. He enjoys chatting with fellow residents, joining in activities, and sharing stories from his long and remarkable life.

Happy birthday, Ken! A truly extraordinary man with an extraordinary story. 💜

🍕 Our Whiddon Kelso home came alive with the flavours of Italy! Residents enjoyed a beautiful Italian lunch of lasagne, pizza and tiramisu, with crostoli for afternoon tea.

Many of our residents across our care home - including our Memory Support Home - joined in the kitchen to help prepare the meals. We love seeing everyone take part.

There’s something so special about the connection to home cooking, and these activities are also a wonderful way to support residents living with dementia.

From Cooking Club sessions with our catering team, to hands-on projects in the Men’s Shed, and a few friendly indoor games, there’s never a dull moment. These activities are a wonderful way for residents to share their skills, try something new, and enjoy time together.

🌟 Celebrating 15 Wonderful Years with Jean!

Our lovely Jean has been part of the Whiddon Narrabri family for 15 years, and what a joy it’s been! 💛

To mark the occasion, Jean chose her favourite way to celebrate - a cosy lunch with her daughter and sister, featuring a delicious roast chicken with baked veggies. Our team also gifted her a gorgeous everlasting flower bouquet from .

It was Country Day at our Whiddon Belmont home - and it was buzzing with excitement!

Residents spent the afternoon relaxing in the sunshine, enjoying a hearty BBQ, and meeting some very special guests - ponies, ducks, sheep and rabbits. The animals brought back many memories for our residents who owned animals prior to moving into our care home, and there were plenty of pats, cuddles and smiles all around.

It was extra special to have our team bring along their children and grandchildren to share the day too, making it feel like one big family gathering. Moments like these remind us just how much joy nature and community bring. 🐇

Exciting news from Whiddon Easton Park - Arthur Webb Court! We’ve recently welcomed two new furry and feathered friends - a bird and a rabbit.

Our residents are absolutely loving their new companions. From helping with their care to sharing plenty of cuddles (especially with our very popular bunny!), these little additions are already bringing so much joy and comfort to daily life. 🐰

For Senior Citizens Day last month, Whiddon Easton Park - Sir David Martin Home transformed their dining area into a vibrant Golden Days Market! 🎉

Residents enjoyed classic market treats like corn dogs, fairy floss, milkshakes and refreshing drinks, while trying their luck at quoits, darts and bean bag toss. With play money in hand, they shopped, played and took home Whiddon prizes and chocolates.

The day was filled with laughter, dancing and smiles, thanks to live music from Joy and a colourful Crazy Hair Day contest judged by our very own resident Bob Young.

A heartfelt thank you to our team for making the day so special for the residents! 💛

This month, Whiddon Largs celebrated a very special milestone - our beloved furry friend and Chief Happiness Officer, Mable, turned one! 🐾

Mable was spoiled with a birthday party, complete with pink cupcakes, plenty of presents, and of course, lots of cuddles. Since she was just a tiny pup, Marble has been brightening the lives of residents on Fridays, bringing joy, comfort, and endless smiles.
