A perfect day out for our Whiddon Belmont residents!

Our Moonyah wing, which supports residents living with dementia, enjoyed a beautiful outing to McKenzie Park in Budgewoi. Surrounded by sparkling water and shaded seating, it was the ideal spot to relax and soak up the fresh air.

Fish and chips by the water made the day even more special, bringing together good food and great company.

We love to see our residents getting out and about!

A Major Milestone for Whiddon Temora and Our Community!

We’re proud to announce that Whiddon Temora has secured a $19.5 million government grant, with Whiddon contributing an additional $6 million, to deliver a transformative upgrade to our home – a project that’s been a decade in the making.

This investment will:
✅ Expand our capacity from 76 to 92 places, supporting the growing ageing population in Temora
✅ Create modern, welcoming spaces
✅ Upgrade kitchen facilities and amenities for residents
✅ Generate new local jobs for our community

Construction is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2026 and will take approximately 15 months to complete. This redevelopment is a significant step forward for Temora, ensuring we can continue to provide exceptional care and comfort for current and future residents.

A heartfelt farewell to a dedicated volunteer 💐

Last month, our Whiddon Belmont home bid farewell to Beryl, a volunteer whose kindness and dedication have touched the lives of many over the past four years.

Beryl's connection to Whiddon runs deep - she previously worked at Belmont before stepping away to care for her husband. When she was ready to return, she chose to give back as a volunteer, bringing warmth, companionship, and support to both our residents and employees.

Beryl, your dedication has made a real impact. Thank you for everything you've brought to our community - you'll be truly missed. 🌞

Bringing in 2026 together! 🎆 🥂

From kazoo singalongs and balloon drops at Wingham to fruit punch toasts and countdown celebrations at AWC, our homes welcomed the new year in style.

These moments shared laughter, family, favourite songs, and the excitement of a NYD countdown are what it's all about. Whether it was fairy floss and bubbles or tasty snacks and punch, the joy was in being together for the occasion.

Today we celebrate Frank Whiddon Day – recognising where it all started.

This special day honours the vision and generosity of the Freemasons, whose commitment created a lasting legacy of care for older Australians in need.

From the first cottages described as a “Sanctuary of Tranquillity” to the vibrant homes and services we provide today, their values continue to inspire everything we do.

🎉 Happy 101st Birthday, Maria! 🎂

Our wonderful centenarian resident, Maria, celebrated this incredible milestone at Whiddon Easton Park – Arthur Webb Court, surrounded by fellow residents and team members. To make the day even more special, our CEO Chris joined Maria to cut her birthday cake!

Maria has lived with us for over four years and loves her room with its own balcony and garden view. Originally from Poland, Maria moved to Australia 75 years ago and worked in clothing factories, sewing dresses and doing plenty of overtime in those early years.

What an inspiring life and an amazing celebration for a truly remarkable woman. 💐

As we celebrate this special time of year, we want to wish all our residents, clients, families, team members and communities a safe, happy and joyful holiday season.

In the spirit of Christmas, we’re excited to share the results of our Whiddon Gingerbread Competition – a festive challenge that brought creativity and collaboration to our homes!

Judging was no easy task, with entries scored on:

✨ Creativity in bringing a favourite movie scene or iconic Christmas location to life
✨ Overall wow-factor

🥈 2nd Place: Whiddon Bourke – Welcome to Candyland, proving you can never have too much Christmas candy magic!
🥇 Winner: Whiddon Narrabri Robert Young – Inspired by Sydney Cathedral, this show-stopping creation wowed judges and residents alike!

🎄✨ Christmas magic is in full swing across our homes! Residents are celebrating with joyful parties featuring games, Santa visits, and plenty of laughter. There are delicious feasts with all the trimmings, cocktails, and sweet treats, plus outings to concerts and dazzling Christmas light drives.

Our homes are buzzing with entertainers, sing-alongs, and even cheeky photo ops with Santa, the Grinch, and Frosty! Intergenerational visits are bringing extra smiles, and everyone is loving receiving gifts and handmade surprises like personalised calendars. Residents have also been rolling up their sleeves to bake festive Christmas cakes, creating treats for family and friends.

From gingerbread fun to festive music and dancing, every moment is filled with warmth and cheer. A huge thank you to our amazing teams for making this season so special! ❤️

Our residents have been soaking up the festive spirit and fun lately! From a magical Christmas lights drive that lit up the night, to getting their groove on with some lively drumming sessions – because music isn’t just fun, it’s fantastic for wellbeing and brings so much joy to our homes. 🥁

And if that wasn’t enough, we’ve been armchair travelling to beautiful Bali, exploring the sights and sounds without leaving the comfort of home. 🌴

What a wonderful way to celebrate the season and keep the smiles going! 💛
