Our Whiddon Wee Waa residents recently enjoyed a fabulous outing to Narrabri, with a delicious lunch stop at On Lee’s Chinese Restaurant!

There was plenty of laughter and conversation on the bus and around the table, and the food certainly didn’t disappoint. Even though the huge meal sizes were a surprise, there wasn’t much left on the plates by the end!

A beautiful day out filled with great company, great food, and plenty of smiles. 💛

Whiddon Wingham recently had a wonderful visit from members of our Executive Leadership Team, comprising of great conversations as the team connected and shared the incredible work happening across the home.

As a special thank you, the team presented a gift to show appreciation for the unwavering leadership and support our Wingham care home and the community had experienced during the recent floods.

We’re proud to be transforming one of our former aged care homes into a safe, welcoming space for older women in need of secure housing, thanks to the visionary ‘meanwhile use’ model by Women's Community Shelters in conjunction with the teams at Housing All Australians, Hume Community Housing, Urban Property Group and Rose Jackson.

From retiling bathrooms, updating fittings, and converting former nursing stations into comfortable private rooms, we’re proud to see this space being transformed into a solution for older women in need.

🚍What an amazing morning tea bus outing residents from Narrabri Jessie Hunt and Robert Young had to the Wee Waa Museum.

Everyone enjoyed a trip down memory lane as they wandered through the museum, displaying a variety of old household items, blacksmiths & saddlery, wool and cotton machinery, and a crop-dusting plane, caught in flight.

The trip was especially enjoyed by resident Carmen, who used to be a volunteer at the museum for many years, along with her husband Kevin.

On the way back home, the bus was full of chatter, with many sharing stories and memories sparked by the trip ✨

Our garden-loving residents at Whiddon Easton Park - SDM adored taking part in our winter harvest.

It was a joyful experience as they picked fresh herbs, mandarins, and - the star of the day - our impressive cauliflower, which became quite the celebrity with everyone wanting a photo beside it!

It was heartwarming to witness some beautiful meaningful moments shared between buddies throughout the activity.

A heartfelt thank you to our Head Chef Eka, Bibi and team members, Freda, Jyoti and Namuna for creating these special moments that mean a lot to residents. ❤️

Our Whiddon Narrabri - Robert Young home residents took home the gold with their monthly Olympic games!

With some friendly competition, the residents showed off their skills and had a ball with classic games like bean bag toss, ring toss, and darts.

Laughter, cheers, and team spirit filled the room as everyone gave it their best shot. These Olympics aren't just about winning, they're about having fun and staying active!

Our Wingham residents recently enjoyed a magical Winter Dinner Dance in their beautifully decorated Primrose Dining Room. With live music by the talented Dennis Tetley, the room came alive as residents and visiting family danced the evening away. 💃

Guests were treated to delicious finger food, sweet treats, fruit punch, wine, beer, and soft drinks – the perfect combination for a cosy and joyful night.

What a heartwarming evening filled with music and great company!

What a vibrant celebration of culture, community and connection! Our recent Filipino Day celebrations were truly something special! 🇵🇭✨

Our team pulled out all the stops recently, sharing their traditions through incredible food, colourful dress, and joyful dance. It was a beautiful reminder of how powerful it is when we come together, celebrate our differences and learn from each other.

This NAIDOC Week, our care homes came alive with celebration, connection and cultural learning as residents and teams embraced the 2025 theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy, which included:

🔴Aboriginal Dot painting: History and Techniques at Narrabri
⚫ A young Kamilaroi man visited the team at Wee Waa
💨A smoking ceremony at Beaudesert
🐟 A special Bush Tucker luncheon at Largs
🖼️Special guests donating their time to talk about indigenous paintings at Kelso

Our residents had the chance to reflect, share and honour the strength and stories of First Nations peoples.
