🦷 Should You Brush Before or After Breakfast?
✅ Best Practice: Brush Before Breakfast
Why? Overnight, bacteria build up in your mouth. Brushing first thing removes plaque and helps protect your teeth from acids in your breakfast (especially if you eat fruit, juice, or coffee).

Fluoride protection: Brushing before breakfast coats your teeth with fluoride, making them more resistant to acid attacks during your meal.

🍳 What If You Prefer Brushing After Breakfast?
If you must brush after eating, wait at least 30 minutes — especially after consuming acidic foods or drinks. Brushing immediately after can actually rub the acids deeper into your enamel, causing more damage.

🦷 Common Signs You Might Have Gum Disease:
Bleeding gums – especially when brushing or flossing

Red, swollen, or tender gums

Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in your mouth

Receding gums – your teeth may look “longer” than before

Loose or shifting teeth

Pain when chewing

Pus between teeth and gums (in more advanced cases)

✅ What You Should Do:
Don’t ignore bleeding gums — it’s not normal, even if it's common.

Visit your dentist for a full exam and cleaning.

Early gum disease (gingivitis) can be reversed with good brushing, flossing, and professional care.

If it progresses to periodontitis, it needs more involved treatment — but the earlier you catch it, the better the outcome.

Floss first, then brush 🪥
Flossing before brushing helps remove debris and lets fluoride reach between teeth more effectively 🦷

Let’s be honest — flossing isn’t everyone’s favorite part of the routine. But here’s the deal: brushing only cleans about 60% of your tooth surfaces. The other 40%? That’s where floss comes in. Between your teeth is where plaque, bacteria, and food love to hide (yep, even from your toothbrush). Flossing once a day helps prevent cavities, bad breath, and gum disease — all in under 2 minutes. Think of it as a tiny string that makes a huge difference. Your future smile will thank you
