Today we wanted to tell you about a Sunday morning, almost like any other for Borger Cranes. ‘Almost’ because we spent it in the centre of Brisbane, surrounded by buildings. A section of the street was blocked off so that technical equipment could be hoisted onto the roof of a building... at a height of almost 100 metres in a very confined space.

Mitch 💪, one of our supervisors, worked for several months to ensure that this delicate operation ran smoothly and in record time to cause as little disruption as possible thanks to our expert teams 💪💪💪💪💪💪

The mission was accomplished perfectly (not surprising, right?). So we asked Mitch to tell us about his day's work in detail. Fascinating!

On this Brisbane lift, the building was 26 meters away from the LTM 1350, the main boom was held at 82 degrees and the total reach was roughly 100 meters to clear 95 meters of structure plus about five meters of scaffolding...

Big job at QEII Coopers Plains!
As part of the Queensland hospital upgrade program, our crews were asked to erect multiple cranes on site - all at the same time!!

That meant months of planning deliveries, lining up every crane component (ours and Liebherr’s) and then dealing with plenty of rain along the way.

It wasn’t easy, but the logistics and teamwork behind this project kept the hospital upgrade moving and made us proud to be involved in something so important for the community.

In business terms, 2025 was an exceptional year for 𝐁o𝐫g𝐞r C𝐫a𝐧e𝐬 and 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 promises already to be even bigger, heavier, more ambitious and more far-reaching.

But none of this happened overnight. It took 45 years to reach this point. It has been 45 years since Jon and Barbara founded Borger Cranes, which is now one of Australia's leading lifting companies. From one lift in 1980 to 10,000 customers today.

And to think that this is only the beginning! It is thanks to the professionalism of our teams, whether in our offices, workshops or out in the field, and to the trust placed in us by all our loyal customers, past and present, that we are where we are today.

What an i𝐧c𝐫e𝐝i𝐛l𝐞 year it has been for 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬. As 2025 comes to a close, we want to take a moment to thank 𝐲o𝐮 all for your trust, support, and partnership throughout the year. Working on projects of all sizes has been a privilege, and the confidence in our team and our fleet means a great deal to us.

This year marked our 45th anniversary as a family business, a milestone we could only reach with loyal clients and industry partners. All the projects challenge us to innovate, invest in new equipment, and continually lift our standards in safety, reliability, and service. For that, we are truly grateful.

As we head into the Christmas and New Year period, we hope 𝐲o𝐮 enjoy a well-earned break and time with your families and friends. If 𝐲o𝐮 are travelling, stay safe; if you are on site over the holidays, we wish 𝐲o𝐮 safe lifts and smooth operations.

On 2 December, we were proud to welcome partners and future talent to a special industry day with Acciona AU & NZ and CICA in our headquarters in Glendenning, NSW.

The focus was firmly on the next generation and on women in the crane industry, with plenty of opportunities for young people to discover what a career around cranes can look like.

Throughout the day, visitors were able to get hands-on with crane operations using the CICA simulator, giving many their very first taste of being “in the seat” in a safe and engaging way.

Sharon Pearce from CICA led inspiring conversations with women in engineering, highlighting the vital role female talent already plays- and will increasingly play - in our sector.

A huge thank you to Sharon, and a special thanks to Anton De Pasquale from Team 18 for taking the time to speak to the many young attendees and share his experience and advice.

Borger Cranes has successfully delivered a key milestone in resilient infrastructure for Northern New South Wales. In response to recurring flood challenges, the Bluff Bridge reconstruction exemplifies industry-leading engineering, precision, and project coordination.

The installation phase, completed over three days, involved a 750-ton mobile crane and a 600-ton crawler crane. The operation's most demanding lift - an 82-ton girder at a 62-metre radius, utilizing a 260-ton counterweight -demonstrates the technical expertise and planning required for large-scale infrastructure projects.

This achievement - lead by Silverstrand - provides a durable and flood-resistant connection for the Clarence Valley region.

Borger Cranes has been tasked with delivering a critical rooftop lift at Macquarie Place in Sydney using a 400 t Grove GMK6400.

The lift study outlines the safe removal of the existing cooling towers and the installation of new plant on a highly constrained CBD rooftop, ensuring tightly controlled risk and precise ex*****on for the client.

A great project, smoothly carried out alongside Nutbrook Group 💪

Not long ago, Borger Cranes has successfully completed the first phase of its work on the QEII Hospital upgrade in Brisbane, delivering an extremely complex lift: plan and then deliver a three-crane operation in a single day, under challenging conditions.

Before any project is carried out, the set-up phase is a critical moment for gaining efficiency.
