🌼SEASONAL ALLERGY

Hay fever is caused by an allergic response to outdoor or indoor allergens, such as pollen, dust mites, or tiny flecks of skin and saliva shed by cats, dogs, and other animals with fur or feathers (pet dander).

When you have hay fever, your immune system identifies a harmless airborne substance as harmful. Your immune system then produces antibodies to this harmless substance. The next time you come in contact with the substance, these antibodies signal your immune system to release chemicals such as histamine into your bloodstream, which cause a reaction that leads to the signs and symptoms of hay fever.

The best way to treat seasonal allergy is by avoidance of triggers wherever possible. Keep your house free of dust and mould where possible. Keep your immune system healthy with fresh foods containing Vitamin C. You could also add a dash of Eucalyptus essential oil in each load of washing to minimize irritants.

HEALTHY SKIN FOR ADULTS AND TEENAGERS

With more of us wearing masks for longer hours, I’m noticing more patients in my clinic asking for help with their skin. For teenagers, it can be a worsening of hormonal pimples, but adults can suffer from a skin condition known as Rosacea. It is also called adult acne, and is a chronic inflammation of facial skin. It affects adults, most commonly women between 30-60. Symptoms can be mild, such as occasional blushing and/or only rare pimples. Moderate symptoms are frequent blushing, persistent facial redness and/or a few pimples almost all the time. Severe rosacea – lots of pimples or bumps all the time and/or red, uncomfortable eyes all the time.

Homeopathy treats the skin condition from the root cause, bringing the body back to balance and essentially 'eliminating' or lessening symptoms. The idea of homeopathy is less is more, and with this in mind, ideally, we take a small amount of remedy to get the maximum effect.

When we complete the remedy, we don’t want the symptoms to return. In this case it’s pimples, so therefore we are not looking to stop the symptoms, but we are boosting the body’s immune system or vital force in order for the individual organism to self-regulate and heal.
