ALEXIS'S LEGACY
Since the recent tragedy of our beloved daughter Alexis, Claire and I have received overwhelming support from friends and family. What we have found is that a tragedy of this magnitude has a ripple effect that impacts beyond Alexis and her immediate family and friends. Many of you have reached out and asked how you can help or if there is anything you can do.

After much consideration, both Claire and I would like to invite everyone to honour Alexis by helping us fundraise for a valuable and impactful foundation, the Blue Datto Foundation. We have detailed some information below as to the nature of the passing of Alexis and the reason we have chosen this foundation for Alexis's legacy. 100% of the funds raised will be donated to this charity.

The Background:
In the early hours of Saturday 31st October 2020, our beautiful daughter was involved in a single vehicle collision. Alexis was the front-seat passenger in the vehicle, and after being cut from the vehicle by emergency responders she was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The P-plate driver and two other passengers in the car were assessed and later released by medical staff, while our baby girl Alexis was rushed straight to the Intensive Care Unit.

Unfortunately, her conditions worsened during the weekend. Whilst the ICU team did their best to save her life, our worst nightmare became a reality and our beautiful Alexis succumbed to the devastating injuries sustained from the collision and passed away early on Tuesday 3rd November 2020.

Four people were directly involved in this accident.

Three unscathed with non-life-threatening injuries.

One passed away; our daughter, my little girl, the victim of this terrible circumstance.

And yet despite these numbers, many more lives have been indirectly affected by this tragedy - not just our family, our friends, but our communities, our emergency and hospital workers, and more.

A beautiful life taken due to unforeseen circumstances, causing a ripple-effect that will go on…

Alexis's Legacy:
This ripple has the opportunity to be used for good. Alexis was a very selfless and compassionate soul. She was always thoughtful and caring of others, particularly her family, all her sisters and baby brother, and children. She would always share everything she had, even when it meant she wouldn't have it herself.
