Researchers predicted monkeys go to their mums because they feed them. Research was conducted where baby monkeys had to choose a wire monkey with milk or a soft cloth monkey with no milk. The monkeys spent more time with the cloth monkey.

Attachment is more than just about food. It’s about warmth and physical comfort.

During war time many orphanages opened. In some orphanages more infants died than others. Researchers looked into this. All the orphanages had food, medicine, doctors, temperature & cleanliness. The difference was that in the orphanages with the least amount of death carers went around hugging the infants. Highest death rates the infants were not hugged.

I wrote this after seeing a breastfeeding robot come up on Instagram. Probably AI.
