Physio or Exercise Physiologist — who should you see? 🤔
Both help you move better, but when you see them matters.
👉 See a PHYSIOTHERAPIST if you have:
• New or ongoing pain
• An injury (sport, work, or everyday life)
• Swelling, stiffness, or loss of movement
• A flare-up that’s stopping normal activity
• Post-surgery or acute injury concerns
Physios assess, diagnose, and treat injuries, helping settle pain and guide recovery early on.
👉 See an EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST if you:
• Are managing a long-term condition
• Need structured rehab or strengthening
• Want help returning to exercise safely
• Are building capacity after injury
• Need supervised exercise for health conditions
EPs focus on improving strength, fitness, and confidence with safe, tailored exercise programs.
✨ The good news?
They work best together.
Many patients start with a physio, then transition to an EP - or see both at the same time - for the best long-term results.
