The Defib Shop

The Defib Shop We are your 'One Stop Shop' for all AEDs / Defibrillator units, batteries & pads and First Aid gear! Visit http://www.defibshop.com.au/

The Defib Shop was founded in 2008 by Carpet Hughes and Dr Jason Bendall, both Intensive Care Paramedics with a background treating many victims of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). It was a passion for saving lives that Carpet and Jason began the Defib Shop. Knowing defibrillators do save lives gave them the drive to get defibs into our communities throughout Australia. Both have saved many cardiac arrest patients, and have met many of those they have saved following their recovery in hospital and at home. Many patients tell stories of how they have realised how precious life is, and some have lived to travel around Australia and overseas, spent important time with family and friends and found new hobbies and activities to make the most of life! The cost of a defibrillator is paled into insignificance when you save a life!

A BIG 'thank you' to all who attended to our Defib Ready Presentations at Port Stephens Council venues on 20/09/2024!

With many councils such as Port Stephens Council proactive with the implementation of AEDs, our chances of survival can go from well below 10% just with great CPR, right up to more than possibly 90% with an AED at close hand!

There are now many more locals in the Port Stephens Council area who are aware of how to use an AED and how to successfully save a life with defibrillation!

The more we learn about Sudden Cardiac Arrest and how to use defibrillators, the better the chance of survival for community members to successfully survive a Sudden Cardiac Arrest!

Participants at the Defib Ready presentations walked away feeling very comfortable knowing when and how to successfully use one of their local AEDs!

An additional BIG 'thank you' too to Melanie and Mel from Port Stephens Council and the Defibshop respectively - they both did a great team effort to arrange the presentations for the day! 😊
