Magnesium deficiency is far more common than most people realise.
Our soils are depleted, stress is at an all-time high, and processed foods dominate most diets. All factors that interfere with the body's magnesium status, but here's the tricky part... testing magnesium isn't straightforward.
Only ~1% of your body’s magnesium lives in the blood. Standard serum testing can look “normal” even when your cells are running low, as the body works hard to keep blood levels stable (pulling magnesium from bones and tissues if needed). Therefore, this is not a true reflection of total body magnesium status. So if your bloods say your fine, but you don't feel it... it might be time to dig a little deeper!
