Ankle arthroscopy is a procedure where a small incision will be made on your ankle area and a mini telescope is introduced into the joint to visualise the joint line. This is a minimally invasive procedure in conjunction with ankle reconstruction surgery. Modern procedures like this have a 91% success rate in the resolution of pain and return to normal function.

After going through an ankle fusion, you'll spend 1-2 days in the hospital. You'll need to stabilise the ankle joint during the rehabilitation period which means you have to keep your feet relaxed and without pressure.

You will likely be examined at 1 week, 4 weeks, 6 weeks and 12 weeks, 6 months and 1year post-operatively. After the first six weeks, you may be able to begin weight bearing in the boot, though you will continue to wear this for another six weeks.
