Well here we are. More than half the year behind us. Those shiny New Year’s Resolutions gathering dust in a corner… I have a little assignment for you this weekend: take a moment to remember your hopes and dreams for 2025. Now reflect on your year so far. No judgement. No self-flagellation. It’s time to make a conscious decision to re-set. Decide on what you want the rest of 2025 to look like. Pick one or two goals to prioritise. Bonus points if one of those goals involves prioritising your physical or emotional wellbeing. Now imagine yourself on New Year’s Eve feeling great about what you achieved in just a few months. What steps did you take every day to get here? Now go do that!😊 I’m cheering you on!🎉🎉🎉

I will add a fourth one to this list: We need a “connection win” - we need to connect with others each day - family, friends, co-workers, neighbours - we thrive when we have positive interactions with others. Even if it’s just a few friendly words in passing - research shows that positive interactions, even with so-called “weak ties” (like the person you buy your coffee from) boost our wellbeing.😊 What would you add to this list?

Did you know that loneliness is and social isolation is not only bad for our mental wellbeing, it also impacts our physical health. So if you are committed to improving your health, it is definitely worthwhile paying just as much attention to your relationships and sense of connection to those around you as you do to your nutrition, sleep and activity levels.
