Western Sydney residents are being encouraged to stay on alert for symptoms of gastroenteritis, with testing and hospital data showing a significant rise in cases in recent weeks across the state.

“The message to the community is clear – simple measures can help stop the spread of gastro. Maintaining good hand hygiene and keeping children at home when they are unwell will give us a good chance to slow the spread.” Director of NSW Health’s One Health branch, Keira Glasgow.

A MESSAGE FROM NEPEAN BLUE MOUNTAINS PUBLIC HEALTH NETWORK: Enter the draw to win one of five $100 gift cards and Help Us Improve Healthcare in Our Community!

We are running a survey to hear from our community about their experiences with healthcare in the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Lithgow and Penrith. The feedback will help us identify the services that can be improved, to make it easier for everyone to access healthcare and help ensure our health services meet the needs of the community. As one of our valued stakeholders, we would appreciate your assistance in sharing this opportunity with others in your network who live in the region.

Why participate?

The responses will help shape our 2024 Health Needs Assessment, helping us better align services with the needs of our region. The survey covers important areas like access to healthcare, mental health support and managing long-term conditions. Responses are completely private and will be only used to help plan future healthcare services.

Survey participants can enter the draw to win one of five $100 gift cards.

Have you seen Ronald?

Ronald, age 12 was last seen at St Marys about 11pm yesterday Wednesday 27 June 2024.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black trackpants and was carrying a black backpack.

He is known to frequent Mount Druitt, St Marys and Penrith.

Anyone who sees him is urged to call Nepean Police Area Command or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Some of us already know our darling Nhi broke her left leg without realising and it unfortunately turned septic. By the time it was finally detected she needed surgery and a complex medical regimen to treat it.

Well, after a long spell in ICU at Blacktown Hospital she has finally been released home! She’s not back at work yet but thanks everyone for their kind words and best wishes - we are seeing her this afternoon to bring her the flowers, cards and all the wonderful gifts people have left to show her we are all thinking of her.
