TRANSLATION:
Be grateful for life and all that you have.
Treat others how you would like to be treated.
Thatβs it π
I was raised Roman Catholic, attended church every Sunday, did the rosary with my Grandma, prayed to mother Mary -whoβs picture was on my wall- and attended Sunday school where my mum often taught. It was the foundation of my life and growing up in a small, single parent home it provided a lot of security for me during times when I felt alone, confused and often sad. As I grew I felt disconnected and restrained by rules and structure of the church and left around the age of 13. I carried a lot guilt through out my teens for this while experiencing freedom of thought and opportunity to explore life wholeheartedly in a way that didnβt feel possible before. Through the years my heart has grown fuller through practices of self reflection, meditation, fasting, compassion, forgiveness, love, gratitude and appreciation. I look to those whose hearts I admire and who have guided me over the years and see that they embody these teachings in their words and actions. Itβs through these experiences I have grown to appreciate the word and teaching of Jesus and what these teachings bring out within myself on a deeper level.
Whether you believe in this manβs existence or not, following this guidance will surely bring youβand all those around youβcloser together and ultimately more peace. Something we could all agree is welcome in this world. Itβs through this we deepen our connection with the essence and beauty of our own divinity and this life.
I am not religious, nor and I a Christian, however through my life and the experiences Iβve had, Iβve become a believer in the energy of these words and way of living.
PS: Chocolate helps with all of this btwβ¦..A lot! π
