COVID-19 visitor policy & visiting hours
Our hospitals are on red alert due to the current COVID-19 outbreak and visitors to our hospitals and healthcare facilities have been restricted.

We need to ensure we are not putting our vulnerable patients and critical health services at risk of a COVID-19 exposure.

These restrictions are temporary and will be removed once NSW Health facilities transition out of red alert.

An exemption form must still be completed for anyone wishing to enter our facilities during this period of heightened COVID concern.

Applications for exemptions can be made here.

Arrangements are in place to allow for a visitor in very limited circumstances including women in labour, certain circumstances in the emergency department, special care nursery, paediatrics and palliative care.

Where possible we request 24 hours’ notice. If your request is approved, one visitor per patient will receive access for a 72 hour period.

For birthing mothers, approval for your visitor will stand until you have given birth.

What is an End of Life Doula?

An End-of-Life Doula is a non-medical role that provides support, options and education assisting the dying and those around them have their end of life unfold in alignment with their wishes, to preserve the quality of life, wellbeing and self-worth up to and beyond the end of life as we know it.

They are the “informed companion” bringing comfort, support, compassion, and assist a person and their family in feeling safe and supported during this important transition.
