Christina Vithoulkas on why she loves to drive with the Fadiel Satellite Accelerator. Christina takes part in drift car events across Australia, driving her Ford Ranger while towing her Drift Car on a trailer to get there. She explains how the Satellite Accelerator has made all the difference to her long distance drives.

A heartfelt thank you to the Driver Trained OTs, Specialist Driving Instructors and other Industry Professionals who attended and helped make our NSW Drive Day such a fantastic event.

Held last Tuesday, the day was a success in so many ways — thanks to the energy, enthusiasm, and engagement of all who joined us.

It was a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, connect with specialist driving instructors, and explore the latest advancements in adaptive driving technology.

One of the most rewarding aspects was seeing DTOTs get behind the wheel and experience a wide range of driving controls firsthand.

A special highlight was hearing from Paralympian Madison de Rozario, who generously shared her journey — both as an elite athlete and as a driver with lived experience of disability.

While this event was specifically for professionals in the driving with disability sector, another Drive Day for the public will be coming soon in Sydney and hopefully other cities in the not too distant future. Register your interest here:

"Gaining back the ability to drive will allow me to do what I want, when I want, how I want, with who I want". Mel eloquently explains what it means to her to get driving again.

A major road accident left Mel unable to use her right leg to drive. She came to Total Ability's recent 'Drive Day' - hosted on a private track - to explore the best way to return to driving without the pressure of other road users.

We were thrilled to hear that only a few days ago, Mel passed her driving test using a left foot accelerator, and is now on her way to getting the necessary equipment installed in her car.

Lisa wasn't sure she'd be able to drive again until she came to Total Ability's recent 'Drive Day' in Sydney. However, she is now confident that she has found a solution - a left foot accelerator - after a failed hip replacement meant she is unable to use her right foot to accelerate and brake.

The amazing Chris Astill is once again raising awareness and money for Cancer Council, driving in the Sh*tbox Rally from Perth to Darwin. This time he's using a manual car just to add a degree of difficulty! So with his Fadiel Satellite Accelerator, you can see Chris in this video changing gears using a Fadiel 'Duck Clutch' - a button on the top of his gear shift that depresses the clutch as he changes gear.

With that success comes the need to keep it up-to-date with, as she explains, the help of feedback from readers and industry experts. The revised 2025 edition is out now.

Drift Car driver Christina Vithoulkas was our special guest at ATSA Melbourne last month.

Thanks to the ATSA organisers and Melbourne Showgrounds for being flexible, allowing Christina's Drift Car to be positioned inside in the Sports Area due to the cold weather! It led to many more interactions, keeping Christina chatting all day.

As you can hear, the sound of the car turns heads!

Samaria, celebrating getting her full license back, with expert guidance from Specialist Driving Instructor Dean McMillan. After lessons in Total Ability's high level assessment vehicle, Samaria is now in the process of buying and setting up her own van so she can enjoy more independence.
