A few years ago I went on a (very nerdy) holiday in outback QLD to check out Australia’s dinosaur fossils. This is Penny the Plesiosaur, a prehistoric marine reptile who lived largely during the Jurassic Period (back when the QLD area was part of an ocean). Penny grew to be a ripe old age - old enough to develop arthritis in her neck. Her bones were preserved when her body settled on the ocean floor, which is now the QLD desert.
I am often asked how Bowen therapy can help cats and dogs. Truth be told, animals often suffer from the same ailments we do - and that’s hardly surprising, given that we are animals too! Like Penny, they can develop stiff, arthritic joints from old age and they can also suffer from musculoskeletal injuries due to sprains and strains (for instance, from falls and slips).
If I had been around in the Jurassic Period, I would definitely have offered Penny some Bowen on her neck to help mobilise the connective tissue around the affected joints and free up her range of movement (she probably would have eaten me before the treatment had finished, but still…!) 🦕
