I have worked to accept all of myself. Complexities, contradictions and all. When I was in my twenties, I based my value on how others perceived me, particularly men. As I have matured, I’ve learned more about myself that I am layered, with depths and complexity that others may not like or understand. They will judge it, and you, when you do not fit into their understanding of reality.
🌿
I know I have come far, because I no longer allow anyone to determine my value or worth except me.
🌿
What other people think of me is not my business. I can choose to process and feel my emotions about it...that is my job. I can choose to manage how I show up. But ultimately,I have an obligation to continue being as bright, bold, and challenging of a woman as I’ve always been. I’ve have an obligation to be true to myself always.
🌿
Because it’s okay to have sides. This outdated version of women as the “good girl” or the “whore”, “mother” or “maiden” “this” or “that” are all symptoms of a patriarchal system designed to keep women seeking validation outside of themselves. I know because I have subscribed to that.

One day I’m watching and the next, I’m sitting in 3 days of silent meditation. One moment I’m twerking to and the next vibing to .

Folks will always try to box you. Try to convince you of your worth and right to take up space. Try to tell you to be a little less. And shame you for believing and saying that you are worthy of all you desire. Of shining bright and showing up unapologetically, flaws and all. To try and come up with petty reasons why your existence is not legitimate.
🌿
They will unconsciously place their fears and limitations at your feet because they are afraid of the mirror you provide to them when you stand in your power. That is their business.
🌿
Never allow anyone’s insecurity or projections stop you from showing the world all of who you are. You are allowed to be a contradiction. It doesn’t make who you are any less valid or valuable.
🌿
You are allowed to be a work in progress. You are allowed to be imperfect. To laugh out loud. Take up space. Have boundaries others disagree with. Speak your mind unapologetically and without fear of what others will think.
🌿
The joy of being a powerful, beautiful, intelligent, strong, kind, complex multilayered woman of colour is I can be both all of that and MORE.
🌿
You job in this world to be the biggest, boldest, grandest version of ourselves . The more people you trigger, the better! It means you’re doing s**t right!!!!
🌿
Shine bright queens. Embrace your . Rise into who you know you truely are and have always been.
