Maybe it's time to explore the patterns that keep repeating in our lives. The same kinds of dynamics in relationships, the same health issues that become chronic. Sometimes a health challenge like stress can instigate the investigation into hidden traumas that may need to be addressed for things to change. I understand this can feel really scary but sometimes not taking action can lead to more serious outcomes. Know there are people out there that are trained to uncover the patterns, to work with the pain and transform it allowing you greater freedom to enjoy your life.

In life We often get warning signs before something happens. For example 'Dangerous current' warns to take care in the surf. To not swim in these areas. This allows us to consider new information and to make decisions taking this into account. However sometimes we can rush into situations, not seeing the signs. Not reading the cues along the way. Repeating the same mistakes. Wondering, how did this happen? Like swimming and getting caught in the rip, and then seeing the sign when we are out from shore. Or noticing how you are always asked to cook at family gatherings and you don't want to. Notice your own participation in this happening, agreeing then feeling resentful. You are getting signs to set a boundary, a limit for yourself. Or agreeing to working later at work or taking on too many tasks where the body is crying out for rest. Only later do we sense the exhaustion when all the tasks for others are done.
Try noticing the signs of your body, clenched fist, tight stomach, headache, sore neck. Notice what is being said by the body and how can you take these signs into consideration. Rather than rushing into being pleasing, or avoiding a challenging conversation. Notice how your body, will reflect your limits in physical tensions.

Take a look at this documentary, Heal. Tracey Noonan interviews doctors, researchers and others as they discuss how the body can heal. They look at the impact of people's perceptions and how what we belief and feel impacts the health of the body and how more and more evidence is showing this to be true. They turn to look at our mindset when healthy eating, great lifestyle, exercise still doesn't change certain health conditions. Having to get to deep held emotional beliefs, traumas, experiences assists the body to decrease inflammation, stress and more.
Its definitely worth a look.

Quantum_ology is supporting World Mental Health Day by celebrating the importance of support networks in people's lives.
These are your Champions that cheer you on, assisting you to ask for help, go for that new job, make new friends and are there to chat, give a hug, cup of tea and reassure you, how great you are.
To all your support people a big cheer goes up. Each person from family, friends, Dr, counsellor, physio, health consultants, and the list goes on. Each person plays an important role when they are part of your support network.

How do you manage stress?
When we are tired, burnt out, vulnerable we may be quick to react. Tolerance decreases. Just notice if you are quick to anger and be curious if boundaries are needed for self care.

We can also be triggered into increased tension through the fight, flight, freeze response through a memory or by our anticipation of what might happen, our interpretation of our experience. Breathing exercises and self talk help to decrease the Amygdalas reactivity.

What do you do?

Do you flee?
Do you have the desire to want to escape, find the exit and run, from a meeting, or a boss or a relationship?
Or do you fight?
Do you become intimidating, dominate, show your power over?
Or do you freeze? Seek reassurance, cuddle in for support due to it all feeling too overwhelming?

Reflect on how you react to stress, how your fight and flight response may get activated.
Our responses are necessary when we are in danger, the issue though being that we maybe in survival mode alot of the time which exhausts our body. There may not be life threatening danger however we are responding as if there is.

Understanding how we respond from a memory or our thoughts and visualisations assists us in learning how to respond differently.

Breathing interrupts the process through the parasympathetic nervous system calming the body and assisting the body to recognise that you are safe even though you may feel uncomfortable. Over time it starts to decrease anxiety and reduce reactions.

Let me know what you do.
