On Friday, our Support at Home team on the Central Coast shared lunch with clients led by Operations Manager Mustafa Hamady and Head of Support at Home & Customer Experience Maria Binny, alongside team members Sadia and Sakinha.

It was a simple but meaningful opportunity to listen, learn and spend genuine time together outside of scheduled supports. Moments like this help us stay grounded in what matters understanding each person’s daily life, goals and preferences.

Good lighting plays a big role in safety and wellbeing at home.
This week’s tip is to check that key areas are well lit especially hallways, bathrooms, entryways and bedrooms. Brighter, consistent lighting helps reduce trips, supports balance, and makes everyday tasks easier and more comfortable.
Simple changes like replacing dim bulbs, adding night lights or opening curtains during the day can make a real difference.

Last week we talked about what care management really means.
This week, let’s talk about when it’s time to review your care plan.

You don’t need to wait for an annual review. A care plan should change as your needs change.
It may be time to request a review if you notice:

• changes in health or mobility
• new medications or appointments
• daily tasks becoming harder
• changes in routines or confidence
• increased reliance on family or carers
• something simply no longer feels right

A review helps ensure your supports continue to match your needs safely, respectfully and in line with your goals.

Support at Home - How Services Are Approved:
Under the new Support at Home model, services are approved based on your assessed needs, not a package level.
This means:
• an assessor identifies the supports you require
• each service is listed individually
• providers can only deliver what is approved
• changes in needs = updated approvals

It’s a system designed to give you the right support at the right time, with clearer rules and stronger protections.
