Cold weather cravings is your body’s wisdom showing up . ❄️🍵

As the seasons shift and the air cools, our bodies and nervous systems instinctively seek warmth and safety.

Cravings for chocolate, warm bread, or sweet, heavy meals often emerge — especially in the quiet of evening or moments of loneliness.

But what if we stopped labeling those cravings as “bad”…
And instead began to listen to them?

Cravings are often signs that something inside is asking for:
💛 Comfort
💛 Emotional regulation
💛 Nervous system soothing
💛 A sense of connection

Rather than fight the urge, try this:
✔ Pause
✔ Gently ask: What part of me is needing warmth or love right now?

Not all fats are created equal 🛢️

Many common cooking oils may seem harmless — even marketed as “heart healthy” — but behind the label, they can contribute to chronic inflammation, hormonal disruption, and difficulty losing weight.

Here’s why we avoid oils like canola, soybean, corn, sunflower, safflower, and cottonseed:

They’re high in omega-6 fatty acids, which — in excess — can tip the body into a pro-inflammatory state

Most are highly refined, heated, and chemically processed — making them oxidized before they even reach your plate

They can disrupt GLP-1 (a key hormone that helps regulate hunger, blood sugar, and fat metabolism)

These fats can slow metabolism, impair insulin sensitivity, and interfere with your body’s natural appetite regulation

In contrast, when we prioritize anti-inflammatory fats:

Ever gained weight the day after eating more carbs?

It’s usually just water weight — a totally normal survival response as your body refills glycogen stores and holds onto hydration.

Nothing’s wrong with you, your body, or your plan.

But… if the weight sticks around longer than a couple of days, it could signal something deeper:
• ultra-processed carbs spiking insulin
• metabolic inflexibility
• gut or hormonal imbalances
• food sensitivities causing inflammation

One smart tip? 💡
After carb reintroduction, give your body 2 days to metabolize glycogen naturally before jumping back into any strict keto or fasting. Use fibre to help ease you back into keto without harsh restrictions.

This helps your system reset gently, avoid rebound weight, and reduce metabolic stress.

Light and Flow - Weight loss and wellbeing.

The Light and Flow diet & Lifestyle is a program designed to help balance body, mind and emotions. It is a proven system to assist our clients to shift from a processed or unhealthy diet to a diet that is wholesome and enjoyable.

The program involves a menu and dietary plan, audio recordings and acupuncture. Fortnightly visits are required to maintain progress but for clients who live outside of Sydney phone consultations are available and products are sent by Australia Express post.
