You don't even know you're stressed.

You say you feel well.
You're not worried about a thing.
You're happy.
Work is going great.
Your relationships are great.
Money is great.
You have no worries.

While you believe you aren't stressed, it quietly attacks the cells of your body.

Stress also creates thoughts, beliefs, behaviors, and habits.

How much alcohol are you drinking each day?

Did you know that alcohol is a depressant in the first hours of you drinking it?

That means that alcohol initially calms you down a bit, you feel more relaxed, and you think you feel better for it.

Alcohol has an effect on you that is not that positive.

As the liver processes the alcohol out of your system, it acts as a stimulant, and boom, you have trouble sleeping or staying asleep.

During this time, you may lay awake for a while and think about things in your life.

If you do this several times a week, the quality of your sleep is decreased, and there are negative effects that you may not be aware of.

But you're not stressed, are you?

Stress is created in your body and mind without you even knowing or recognising it.

Over time, the effects of stress build, your brain becomes rewired for negative thoughts and behaviors, AND it's having its way with the cells of your body.

But you're not stressed, right?

Someone told me recently they had a bad case of shingles, BUT they were not stressed. They weren't worried about a thing.

Stress will have its way with you until you do something about it.

Don't let it take your life by creating a disease that can't be healed.

Your one-time fix-it exists!!!!

You've read, seen, and been told by so many that all you have to is do "this one thing," "this course", "my method", "do this exercise", "follow this diet", or "take these supplements," etc, etc, etc.

How did any of them work out for you?

When you're hungry, does a plate of healthy, delicious food suddenly appear in front of you?

How about those kilograms or pounds falling off when you think they should leave your body? Does that happen?

Does your business or career take a surge forward and grow because you tried one strategy?

What about your nagging, negative thoughts, and fears? Do they go because you tried a couple of affirmations?

Exercise sounded like a great idea at the time, and getting fit was an effort at first, until you decided it was too hard, too time-consuming, and wasn't really working.

The one-time fix-it doesn't exist - that IS the truth.

The methods you used, the books you read, and the courses you've taken to help you be different and get the edge did not help either.

When you're experiencing stress, and you've been in the thick of it for some time, your body, mind, and emotions are all changing and not for the better.

The symptoms you experience in your health are not isolated; they are all connected to you, your beliefs, behavior, and actions you take.

When nothing you've tried has worked, have you looked closely at why they haven't worked?

Have you given your all to make them work, or was it not feeling right for you from the start?

Are you thinking you should be further along in life than you are?
Is your inner critic nagging at you still?

You cannot expect change with small actions, small effort, and a lack of belief in what you're doing.

No change ever happens in life unless you put the effort in.

There are so many lies being told to you about what will help you, and what will make the difference in your life.

The fast, loud talkers always sound like they have the answer, don't they?

All of the 'failures' have contributed to the stress you experience.

Stress has a compound effect on the body and will silently grow until you can't cope with it anymore - or you're forced to stop!

The one-time fix-it exists only in your mind because of the lie you believe and have been told.

After everything you've done ......
- You are still you.
- You will always be you.
- You will not change UNTIL you change.

When you're dealing with stress, you have to start there - not with a new course, strategy, diet etc.

There is an easier way to make simple and effective changes in your life - deal with the stress first.

The key to unlocking your journey is learning how to master the stress, quieten the inner critic, chit chat and negative behavior, and teach your body to calm down.

Sounds like a lot, right?

That racing mind?

Those chaotic emotions?

They're forcing chemicals and hormones into your body that are damaging you.

Stress - that ugly word you like to deny.

Stress - if you admit you are stressed, it may mean you're weak.

Stress - can create the negative symptoms that make you sick.

I have several people in my world at the moment who are experiencing cancer - that is an enormous stress for them to deal with.

It affects me too, in an indirect way, because I care for them, want them to be well, and hope for their sakes, they change how they've been living their lives.

How you live your life has consequences - both good and bad.

Through these times of supporting others, I feel stress too - some stress in life is normal and healthy, but it's not when it goes on for too long and/or we don't handle it well.

What do I do when I feel stressed?

I have a list of things I do to support myself when I feel stressed, yet my go-to is to get out in nature asap.

Sometimes it's walking in the Aussie bush, or walking on a beach, or taking my dog for a walk and seeing the joy on his little face; that always uplifts me.

I also meditate - nothing woo-woo, just simple mind focusing meditations that I write and record for myself, or I do them without any audio guidance.

This helps to focus the mind, gives an opportunity to monitor and allow what thoughts come into the mind and stops the crazy mental chatter.

I also pray, because I know all too well, that I'm not in control of everything.

I feel for those who go through stress and push it away, ignore it, don't acknowledge or treat it healthily, as there's no respite from the stress.

Operating on autopilot and behaving in a certain way keeps the stress alive and accumulating in the body.

“Life makes no sense to me anymore.”

That’s what Stella thought to herself one morning as she lay in bed, willing herself to get up.

She’d done all the right things - married in her late 20s, had two kids, a solid marriage (or so it seemed), a good career, great friendships.

She was ticking the boxes. But somewhere along the line, the boxes started to feel meaningless.

Calls from friends had become rare.
Her husband drank more and spoke less.
Her kids had grown up and moved on.

She worked like a machine, every day just digging and digging, trying to keep up with the pressure.
Targets. Results. Growth.
Endless pressure to perform, push, sell, repeat.
No support. Just constant noise about what she should be doing better.

In her 50s now, things started to feel different.
Sleep was hit and miss.
Her gut was a mess.
Her mind felt foggy, like someone had stuffed it with cotton wool.
She wasn’t bouncing back like she used to.

She hired a coach - someone who was apparently “really good.”
They gave her more strategies, hacks, systems, and fixes all focused on getting her business firing.

But no one asked how she was.

A few months later, she was waking up feeling dead inside.
Stella was numb, exhausted, sad, but too tired to even cry.
Depression had shifted into something quieter.

Apathy, a flatness, just going through the motions.

That morning, the thought of “Life makes no sense to me anymore” - it stopped her in her tracks.

She knew something had to change because the alternative was no more life.

This is how she felt now, dead inside, so maybe she should be dead.

That's a pretty tough place to be AND many women feel like this, or a version of this.

Then, Stella found me.
We had a few simple chats at first - she was hesitant to talk to another 'coach'.

In our first chat, she told me she didn’t even know what she wanted.
As we talked, she said she wanted to stop feeling like everything was too much, too hard, too painful.

So we started there.
No fluff. No pretending. No woo woo weird stuff.
Just real conversations and practical sessions to help her get calm inside again.

Once the calm had been established, we began to build the woman she wanted to become.

Now, Stella is strong, clear and radiant.
Her husband noticed the changes and asked how he could get some of what she was getting.

Stella started the business she’d been putting off for years, and it’s going well, and she looks and feels more alive.

Here’s what I want you to hear:
You cannot fix your life by just pushing through.
You can’t keep doing what you’ve always done and expect your health, your relationships, or your peace to magically return.

Stress kills.
It destroys slowly.
It wears you down, physically, emotionally, mentally.

Heart attacks, digestive issues, autoimmune disease, depression, insomnia and broken sleep, cancer and many more - these aren’t coincidences - they’re symptoms of a body and mind under siege.

Stress can be overcome with exercise when you're in the acute stage. When your stress moves into the chronic stage, where you feel exhausted and burned out, exercise can deplete your energy further.

There has to be balance, as with everything in life. If you're exhausted and find it difficult to rise and face another day, it's time you learned to relax and help your body and mind start to heal.

What happens during stress?

The first thing is that cortisol and adrenaline surge when we’re stressed or operating in survival mode.

Both of these hormones override calm, comfortable states and prepare us for fight, flight, or freeze.

Feel-good hormones like dopamine, serotonin, endorphins, and oxytocin are all suppressed during stress, especially in long-term cases.

In chronic stress, your brain becomes addicted to solving or escaping the stress state, making it difficult to move into rest, calm, and joy.

The neural pathways become hyper-focused on the threat, which is your stress, and over time, you've created habits that further feed your stress.

Many people end up self-medicating with something to make themselves feel better - until 'safety' is restored, trying to cheer yourself up or think positively doesn't work.

One of the first steps in reducing the stress state, is learning to relax the mind and body - this is where meditation is seriously powerful.

Regular meditation can help reduce stress, rewire the brain for healthier behaviors, and leave you feeling calmer, more focused and productive, and genuinely happier.

When you're regularly meditating, you can start changing your life, for good.
