It can be hard to put your phone down, but reducing screen time will benefit your eyes in the long run. Try leaving your phone outside the bedroom or using your phone’s built-in app timer ⏱ to avoid late-night and early-morning doom scrolling. πŸ“±πŸ˜΄

Central Serous Retinopathy (CSR) is a condition that typically occurs in young to middle-aged adults. It happens when fluid leaks or forms a small blister in the macular area. πŸ‘

This condition is related to dysfunction in the Retinal Pigment Epithelium which helps to keep fluid from leaking out of the choroidal vascular area into the area under the retinal surface. When this isn’t working right, that fluid can build up under the retina and cause vision issues.

If you or a loved one is suffering from CSR and you want to learn more, visit our website. πŸ’»

Those with preexisting conditions should consult with their eyecare practitioner on the frequency of examinations to manage their condition πŸ‘¨β€βš•οΈ

Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is one of the most common causes of vision loss and blindness in Australia.

AMD is a retinal eye disease that causes progressive loss of central vision, but leaves the peripheral vision intact. This can make it difficult to read, drive, write, recognise faces, or perform daily tasks.

If you or a loved one are suffering from AMD and want to learn more, visit our website https://sydneyretina.com.au/patient-information/eye-conditions/age-related-macular-degeneration/

This month is Cataract Awareness Month.

A cataract is the clouding of the lens in the eye due to age-related change and is the leading form of blindness. Over half of older Australians have some form of cataract but it is important to monitor before it's too late.

If something isn’t right with your vision, book an appointment with your eye care practitioner today.
