A special day last week at the Southern Cross University Graduation Ceremony. 🎓

Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout the year and for all your kind messages, support and words of encouragement last week.

Throughout the course last year, Gracie was my quiet companion — her calm presence and steady support saw me through many late nights of assignments and research. Thank you, Gracie, always with me in heart and spirit. 🐶❤️🪽

It struck me that this marks exactly 30 years since my first graduation! This may be the last — or perhaps just another step in a infinite journey of growth and learning.

I am also honoured to join the Advisory Committee for this Master of Integrative Medicine program and look forward to contributing to the curriculum and fostering collaboration between the university, government, and community.

Today, I felt drawn to revisit Steve Jobs’ 2005 Stanford commencement speech — a source of inspiration time and again. A few timeless insights:

✨ “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward.”
✨ “Find what you love. Your work is going to fill in a large part of your life, do what you believe is great work and love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking, don’t settle.
✨ “If you live each day as if it were your last, someday you’ll most certainly be right.” He reminds us: Your time is limited. Don’t be trapped by dogma. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition — they already know what you truly want to become.

And as the Stoics say — memento mori: a beautiful reminder of the preciousness of life, and of focusing on what truly matters.

Keep following your interests, your inner compass, your unique path. 🧭

Never stop learning. Never stop evolving. 🌿

It is never too late. You are never too old! 💚

We are always becoming — we are infinite! 💎

God Bless,

Saludos
😊🙏

From the moment you arrive, you can feel the sacred, grounding energy of this sanctuary—lush greenery, sweeping ocean views, tranquil forest paths, and the awe-inspiring presence of a 1000-year-old fig tree. Days unfold gently alongside wallabies and koalas as quiet neighbours, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, restorative dips in the infinity pool, and soul-nourishing, organic meals. Here, nature cradles you in her arms—an invitation to rest, to dream, to simply be…

It had been a while since I walked in silence through the forest—a true experience of Shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing. Such a simple act, yet so profoundly powerful.

Surrounded by towering trees, feeling their quiet strength and steady support. The rustle of leaves, the birdsong drifting through the canopy—it was nature’s symphony, gently reminding us to slow down and just be.

And then... the ancient fig tree.
A thousand years old. Imagine what it has seen—centuries of change, storms endured—and still it stands, grounded, calm, and strong. Offering shelter, wisdom, and quiet presence to all who come near.

Nature teaches us — if we embrace the silence and listen…

Rest in Peace, my beautiful angel, Grace 🙏

You are now free from suffering, embraced by love and running joyfully through endless fields beneath golden skies, beyond the rainbow bridge.

No words can truly capture the depth of heartbreak and loss that comes with saying goodbye to your beloved fur baby. Grace was a gentle, beautiful soul with a kind and loving nature, adored by everyone who had the joy of meeting her. She will be missed more than words can ever express.

Animals have a special way of teaching us life’s most profound lessons - unconditional love, living in the present, forgiveness and the purest form of companionship.

Until we meet again, my beautiful angel, your love is timeless, your presence will forever be felt and your spirit will shine brightly for all eternity.

Forever in our hearts

Om shanti shanti shanti 🕉️❤️🙏

“When we adopt a dog, or any pet, we know it is going to end with us having to say goodbye, but we still do it. And we do it for a very good reason — they bring so much joy and optimism and happiness.” (Bruce Cameron, A Dog’s Purpose).

Life has a way of revealing our strength when we least expect it. It’s in the toughest moments that we uncover the power within us. You are stronger than you think—trust in your ability to rise. 💖

Lessons from nature… 🦋 🌞

Life can feel heavy during tough times, but nature reminds us that rest is a vital part of resilience. Just like butterflies pause to protect their wings, we, too, must allow ourselves the grace to rest and recharge.

Remember, the storm won’t last forever, and when it clears, you’ll be ready to rise and soar again. Trust the process. 💕

Ride the waves of life with faith and grace. Let your breath be your anchor… 🌟🙏

You want to reduce the carbon footprint of your food?

Focus on what you eat, not whether your food is local. Transport emissions are very small for most food products.

While Okinawans aren't considered vegan, 95% of their diet is plant-based and this huge proportion is thought to be one of the reasons they are so long-lived! The traditional Okinawan diet is centered on the Japanese sweet potato, also known as imo, which is high in fiber, vitamins A, B6, C, and potassium. Furthermore, sweet potatoes, particularly the orange and purple varieties, are high in antioxidants, which protect your body from free radicals.

One purple sweet potato meets 183% of your daily vitamin A requirements. According to research, this superfood may aid in the treatment of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, macular degeneration, and obesity.

In Okinawa, they can be found in a variety of snacks. Purple sweet potato tart is one of the most popular imo dishes.

Why not take a page out of the playbook of the world's centenarians and increase the amount of vegetables you eat? Try adding one new spice (yes, they count!) and one vegetable to your daily diet (bonus if it’s purple sweet potato!). Dietary fiber benefits the health promoting bacterial colonies in your gut biome.
