Mindful Self Compassion & Restorative Yoga 🕯️
On Sunday I guided my students through the exploration of Mindful Self Compassion and honestly it’s a pretty big theme. It can be really uncomfortable to ‘sit with your sh*t’ as one of my teachers says, especially when being guided to offer yourself compassion and kindness throughout it all.
*As always everything was optional and students can zone out at any point.*
For a lot of us it’s not ‘normal’ to give ourselves a hug or offer words of kindness. But a friend? A bestie? That’s usually the first thing we do without even a second thought.
So on Sunday we sat with that discomfort (remember Yoga is the practice of getting comfy with the uncomfy) and I’m so grateful to my students for being open to new levels of love and compassion (hello heart chakra cracking open & new layers of self being unlocked).
Compassion for self spreads compassion for others which spread more peace and happiness for the world 🕊️
