FIVE YEARS IN BUSINESS 💐🌸🌺🌷

Today is a milestone I need to hold with both of my hands 🥹

5 years ago today, on the 22nd of July in 2020 I finished my level one yoga teacher training, registered my ABN and insurance that very day and stepped into the unknown. But really this was a dream conceived years before that. I had longed to do my training for five years, held back by fear and a lack of confidence.

Conception: a quiet vision, hope, dream and love of yoga and spirituality and a longing to share it with the world.

Pregnancy: growing that dream through trainings, teaching in masks during COVID at 11:11 with its green walls and biggie painting to hosting private sessions in my home. Building from nothing with no connections, but learning that when I cared for myself everything else flowed.

Birth: workshops, seasonal offerings, collaborations, events, more trainings and teaching and studying. Paving the way with so many ego deaths, so many obstacles, so much growth and my 500hr level two certification.

Postpartum: tending to what I’ve created, deepening into women’s work, blazing trails, completing doula studies, hosting retreats, more teaching and trainings and refining my skills and my why again and again.

And my why is simple but fierce:
Peace on Earth begins with birth 🌏
If we look after mothers, they can look after their babies, and those babies grow up as peaceful beings choosing love over harm.

When I sit with the last five years I almost can’t believe it’s me, genuine disbelief and shock that this sensitive and introverted girl from the bush who never expected to dream let alone believe it was possible to even have my own business. That same girl who just kept showing up, again and again and again, even when it was hard. Even when my ego wanted to run and quit and hide 😭

Thank you to every single person who has been apart of this journey with me, I cherish all of you and your support so much. You have no idea how much you’ve all meant to me!

Here’s to 5 years… and the next chapter, into the mystic 🤍🤍🤍

CAESAREAN CIRCLE 🕯️

I’m sitting with a very tender heart this evening after our first ever Caesarean circle here in Tamworth!! This work is POTENT. It’s big. It’s brave. It’s massive work for women to step into a space like this. To sit in circle, to revisit birth and to speak what so often goes unspoken.

To every women who came today - with your baby on your hip, in your belly or in your heart - I am so deeply proud of you 🥹 Your presence, your tears, your courage to share despite everything you’ve carried was an honour beyond words to witness!!

This circle was inspired by YOU, my students, my clients, by this community who have taught me that no one ever forgets their birth story and how deeply it matters to feel seen, heard and held.

It was such a joy to co host this event with Samantha from 💖 Our first ever event together as doulas and perinatal yoga teachers. I couldn’t have done it without you, especially your beautiful treaties that nourished us all!!

A heartfelt thankyou to .yogimama in Newy for passing on her wisdom and paving the way for these circles to happen here 😘

To my beautiful volunteer for the scar massage demonstration - you’re an angel and thank you!

And a massive thank you to everyone for holding the space so well and honouring the confidentiality container so that we could go deep. Such deep respect for each other ✨

We went over time… because women need time. We need more time. Time to speak, time to be heard without interruption and next time we’ll make it longer.

I’m so grateful and moved by the beautiful women I gathered in circle with today.

It is clear that Tamworth needs this work.

That women desire this work.

Just got home after a wonderfully nourishing weekend in Newy with my dear friend Lucinda Varney Studio for an early celebration of FIVE years of teaching, friendship , business and the evolution of life in between.

Five years walking alongside each other through so many different seasons and cycles in our lives with so much growth as teachers, women and space holders.

Our offical anniversary isn’t until the 22nd of July but this little wellness weekend away has been such perfect way to reflect and honour how far we’ve come in the lead up to that day.

It has honestly been such a gift to have Luci by my side through it all. Grateful beyond words for this friendship - thank you for seeing, hearing and getting me dear Luci 🥹🤍

PS swipe to the end for something special we foraged for my beautiful pregnant clients to use during birth 🌱 banksia seed pods 🌱 Natures alternative to birth combs!! I’m dreaming they’ll carry karmic magic and wisdom - passed on from one mumma to the next, lending their strength through many births to come ✨

What was everyone’s stand out? I feel like the Rice Cripsy Treats got the most hype? 😍

These three have lived on my kitchen bench for months. They even broke my cookbook stand (already very old and loved) from how much I used them and swapped them out for each other 😅

I started sticky noting the pages that stood out - then realised I was marking every page, so gave up 😂

The recipes are fool proof (unless you’re ambitious like me and decide to double up one that involved beaten egg whites… meringue isn’t not my strong suit… yet)

I’ve adored cooking from these - again and again - for my family, coworkers and my beautiful students and clients.

For anyone moving through preconception, pregnancy or postpartum - or holding space for someone who is - these are pure gold!

Even better is that they’re available to loan from my Doula library if you’re one of my clients xx

THIS IS THE WHOLE POINT…

I knew I’d cry today… and I did… twice…

Because today marked the final gathering in this round of our prenatal & postnatal series - and what a tender, powerful journey it has been.

An oracle card jumped out at me this morning as I shuffled the cards for my mummas - The Cailleach - the veiled one, the wise teacher. A reminder of the deep, ancient wisdom that moves when women gather and what an honour it is to witness it all unfold week after week.

Tears, milk and sweat.

Tea, treats and conscious conversation.

Holding mothers and holding babies.

Great ideas shared like ham, cheese and relish toasties in the freezer for postpartum. Breast milk on scars and pimples. Best tops for breastfeeding and staying warm.

Unused new nappies shared that a babe grew out of.

Navigating tongue ties and tools for GDM.

Tips swapped and stories told.

And always that unwavering truth in it all YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

This is the village. Right here. The listening. The laughter. The tears. The eye contact. The moments of ‘me too’ and ‘I get it’.

This space holds so much more than yoga. It holds dreams, grief, strength, softness and shared breath with women walking similar yet deeply unique paths.

I feel so proud. I feel so grateful. I’m so moved.

To every woman who stepped through those doors and took a chance - on me, and on yourself - thank you.

You’re the reason I do what I do.
You’re the reason I can’t not do what I do.

The power of women gathering, huh?
